Arks frist map
However, when I see dinos spawn in as I fly, they are usually in twos and threes in a tight group and immediately begin separating. It seems easy to spot fresh spawn groups of 2-3 as opposed to previously existing dinos rendering in one at a time at an greater distance. Fresh spawns pop in a couple of seconds later... Direbears in twos, turtles in threes, rexes in twos, etc.
It is like Ark doesn't use the wide area spawn volume system for all dinos, but instead uses a "always spawn at these coordinates" coding for some dinos. Allos are a good example. I have a base at The Maw, so I fly the river along the North side of the Redwoods. There is a Allo spawn half way along the Redwoods. I regularly have seen three Allos spawn in at the same spot every time. 8 to 10 times so far. My assumption is either they are coded to ALWAYS spawn at that specific spot, or the spawn volume for those Allos is 5 feet by 5 feet. Same difference. If your base is at those coordinates... so are the Allos. Sucks to be you. Have you considered moving?
There are several location examples of this where big globs of multiple species spawn in on top of each other... beach at west shore of the redwoods, the tip of the large flat beach on the west coast where the winter biome starts.. Stegos, Scorpions and Sabers all spawn in one clump and immediately start fighting... evey single time I go there.
Notice how these areas all seem to be large flat areas... areas that need a lot of dinos, yet they don't spawn scattered around the beach, instead they spawn at the exact same spot every time all right on top of each other... what happened to spawn "volumes" I don't see any volume, just specific points.
Yep some of my herd are on Passive because they are egg layers, or I don't want them to move, or just not good fighters. But the majority of the group are able to attack. Plus I have a fairly large group of Compy's and Dimorph's that are on aggressive that attack anything that enters and they keep most things clear of the larger group. I also have scorpions, wolves, sabers, and a band of Allo's that wipe most things out before the larger dinos like the rex's or the giga even has to get involved.
Plant turrets, decent dinos and creative building are a good way to combat the issue til fixed but unfortunately not usually before the allos take out all wooden structures with their bleed/area damage. Fridges count as wood, cookers count as wood, not to mention you can't put your jerky in a vault.
The other issue is newer players learning the game and building. They can build a stone fence around their structure but not much helps them get going again when the allos spawn inside. I've watched players come and go the last few weeks mostly do to this more than establlished players just rebuilding portions of what they lost.
Some are joking this must be intended since the devs have been utterly and frustratingly silent like it's not happening.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
