What is up with weapon damage?
So I just made a fabricated pistol to test if it was any good or not (I'm playing PvE mind you) and so naturally I decided to shoot my own dinos and compare it to a simple pistol. I expected the primitive fab pistol to do 50 damage to my allosaurus, and my 108.7% simple pistol to do around 67 damage (63 x 1.087)... but something went wrong, the numbers didn't add up. So i tested it on a trike as well. Neither of the dinos had saddles, but here's how the numbers broke down;

Allosaurus tests;
Fab pistol: 5120.7 --> 5097.3 (23.4 damage)
Simple pistol: 5120.7 --> 5069.8 (50.8 damage, over double the fab pistol)

So I figured something was up with the allosaurus, so I tested it on a trike

Trike tests;
Fab pistol: 699.1 --> 664.1 (Exactly 35 damage)
Simple pistol: 699.1 --> 623.1 (76 whole damage?)

Then I tested on an argentavis, because 2 tests isn't exactly a large sample size :steammocking:

Argent tests;
Fab Pistol: 1538.9 --> ♥♥♥♥.9 (50 damage, the exact number I would expect!)
Simple pistol: 1538.9 --> 1430.2 (108.7 damage... dang)

Clearly this isn't a large enough sample size, so I proceeded to test on my beaver and dire bear

Beaver tests;
Fab pistol: 2520.1 --> 2485.1 (35 damage, same as the trike)
Simple Pistol: 2520.1 --> 2444.0 (76.1 damage, same as the trike, but 0.1 deviation?)

Bear tests; The bear took the same amount of damage as the trike and beaver, 35 and 76... so My question is; Does the allo have bullet resistance or something? Please note, all of these tests were without a saddle, and right into the back right leg (For consistency). Also, I thought the argentavis bonus range damage was removed in "Dino Rebalance Patch 231"? And if the trike/beaver/bear is the standard damage, why did the fabricated pistol not do 50 like the wiki says it should? and the 108.7% simple pistol not do around 67 like it should have?

TLDR; I'm really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad at formatting, and couldn't figure out a way to shorten this without leaving out statistics...

Also, I can do tests on these animals with saddles, headshots, or on wild knocked out creatures if it would help someone explain this to me.

Actually, all dinos have a bullet resistance for some retarded reason. Test it on a player, they get a much higher damage than dinos do. I can't remember exactly what it is, but yeah, there's a resistance to bullet damage. All dnosaurs have a "armour rating" as can be seen by turning damage numbers on. F/E, a face shot on a Dilo with a thrown spear gives me 150 damage, a face shot on a compy will give me something like 124, a trike face shot is around 50ish. These are all wild numbers, of course. It's a bit more apparent with something like the assault rifle, where you can throw a couple rounds at one target, swing over and hit another for quick comparison.

Cause dino's have some kind thick and hard skin that also acts as a light bullet resistance armor wich breaks down the damage they take from bullets xd of u ever have watched KingKong, Jurassic Park(1,2,3) and Jurassic World than u just had to be known by now

I think he, and myself also now, want to know why they have higher resistance to the fabricated pistol than the simple pistol.. Shouldn't it be the same resistance to each?

Lvl 86 Stego and a Fabricated Sniper and bullet, 50 Bullets and only some minor blood patches.

There si a serious bug going on.

http://ark.gamepedia.com/Training_Dummy - thatch damage. I'm pretty sure that everyone else is right about all dinos having different armor values. Carbonemys body shots versus dodo head shots and all. Make sense, but I've never looked at mod data...

It is. In all tests the simple is roughly double
Exactly, and the simple pistol isnt twice as powerful (or its not supposed to be anyway)
