I feel your pain I was using a 1200% effective before they nerfed to 500% and they still just swam by, I mean they literally swim right over the bait and Nothing.

The large fish need large bait, the leech blood or sap does not cut it. Jump in...they will then bite (you). You can not fish those large ones yet until they add large bait

The fish I was after werent large at all ......why would you jump in? if you kill them you dont get the loot off their bodies.

Fishing in Ark is a bit like real life, a waiting game. Wait long enough and one will hit. They seem to have a timer of some kind. Never had one strike instantly.

@natjur Actually you're wrong. I noticed after fishing for a x2.9 Coal, (3.0 being the biggest) that it wouldn't look at Sap which is a Coal's main bait. I put on Leech Blood and it hit right off the bat. I wasn't able to catch it because my fishing poll wasn't good enough. I'm guessing you need at least a purple to get one that big.

I spawned in a better rod to test it. Loaded up with blood and I'm still only getting baby fish -_-

I think the problem is im on Valhalla and the fish only seem to have 3-4 at most in an area......after i sit there for several minutes they just seem to migrate to a differnt area.

The Center seems to have this as well. I'll find a big flock of them, then they poof apart.

Killed all other fish trying to catch a rare 3.3 Multiplyer coal at red obi at Scorched, wated 12min+ no bite, did kill all other fish in the area, using ascendent Rod & Leech blood...
