GTX 970 12 FPS on low settings
I have a GTX 970 with a 4790k, even on low settings I struggle to get 8-16 FPS with 12 as an average. Ground clutter is zero and sky detail is zero, eveything else is on low. Meanwhile, I see other GTX 970 users running on High/Epic settings with a solid 30 FPS.
Anyone have a fix for this or should I just refund the game/abandon it?

EDIT1: I am using Windows 10, my PSU is 500 watts over what my computer is rated to use (1200 watts Corsair PSU), cooling is air and I clean my PC weekly for any dust and have an air filter with a HEPA filter running in my room to reduce the chance of dust getting in my room. My tempts never go above 60 C at max.

well first of all what type of processor do you have? Second, ive got a GTX 960 and my pc runs better on High most of the time, i heard Devs optimized the higher graphics a lot more. I get at least 45 fps with medium-high settings. Your other specs are important like your processor type and possible RAM. Ive got 8 gb ram and an i7-6700.
GPU: GTX 970 (EVGA Superclocked)
CPU: 4790k
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 2133 Mhz
Installed on a Samsung 850 SSD
Honestly, I have seen videos of other GTX 970 users getting 45 FPS with the exact same hardware I have when using Ultra settings. There is no reason for the game to be performing so poorly.

alright well besides asking what resolution you're trying to run it on, i can only guess it could be poor internet connection or something, maybe someone else knows.

resolution? and what special settings you got on like ambient occlusion etc.

make sure all your drivers are up to date
1920x1200, I have a very weird monitor resolution. And I updated my drivers last night. This problem has been plaguing me for the past 8 months ever since I first launched the game. Every single minute logged on my account was just me trying to get the game to not crash on loading worlds, or trying to fix the FPS problems this game is rampant with.

Must be something screwy on your system that doesn't like the game, your hardware is fine. It runs just fine for most people who have equivilent hardware. If you already updated your drivers and such I'd start looking towards it being a software problem.

same specs for me and i get around 40 but the stuttering drops it to 10 at time this is on high settings
8-16 FPS with 12 FPS aveerage at all locations, doesn't matter if I have mods running or not. And I run it in singleplayer.

I was getting lower frames but then I followed the steps in this video and now I get over 60 easily.

did your FPS goes up slightly after playing an hour or so?
Cyzxxikz Jul 30, 2016 @ 12:31am
Well I wouldn't think you should have a problem.. But you might give multiplayer a try, singleplayer is more taxing.. Maybe make sure -useallavailablecores is set as a launch option

So. I've noticed that resolution and it's resolution scale affect the game more than anything. Window fullscreen and fullscreen as well. Some resolutions seem to be better than others. You have to relaunch the game whenever you change something though. You should also use the launch commands like -USEALLAVAILABLECORES to use all your cores and -lowmemory to launch in low memory (your not losing much). If your willing to sacrifice graphics use -sm4 for older rendering and -d3d10 to use dx10.

I'm running a GTX 960 as well, I get 45 to 50 FPS on High to Ultra. I had to uninstall and reinstall and then verify game files in order to get to the speeds I'm at now. there is a lot of junk in the trunk. Just need to clean it out once in a while.
