Fishing...?
What's the advantage of actually "catching fish"? Isn't the end result the same as just jumping in the water and smashing it with a hatchet?

The loot. Not sure if location matters, but size of the fish does. Bigger fish = better loot. I fished for 10 minutes up north and got absorbant sub, rhino horn, black pearl, and ram scuba bp. Also, find school of fish, sit in chair on boat, aim camera by rotating mouse, hold left click for longer cast, wait 1-5 minutes, profit.

But in case you're only in it for treasures, there are extra items dropped by your catches.

Hey dude, no need to get snippy...it's a logical question. I realize it's immersive, but it will be just another immersive activity ignored after a while...in otherwords wasted focus. Now...if there was a benefit, like the ability to harvest certain things from a fish, that could be used to craft certain things, or maybe harvesting fish oild for something etc., it would then have purpose, rather than just some neeto, cool looking, "immersive" experience....smh

Awesome thank you...looks like it'll be worth catching fish, rather than just smashing them with a hatchet.

And that is only, your opinion. Some may not like the fishing, of course. But many players will enjoy the heck out of the whole fishing thing, especially since the fish actually drop loot....SMH indeed.
