Sarco vs Megalodon
I am currently taming a lv 64 Sarco, which hopefully will turn 90ish once it's tamed. I was wondering whether a single Sarco can deal with a Megalodon or if I will have to kite them in order to get underwater resources (i.e oil, pearls...)

Thanks in advance.

Sarcosuchus has a really large turning radius and the megaladon has a small turning radius, what would happen would be that your sarco could not hit the megaladon unless you time it perfectly, otherwise the megaladon might get you first...

you'll be fine. if I'm on a sarco I just jam my face into the mega and start chomping. otherwise I usually just swim away

Sarco's hitbox for its attack is terribad as well. While it technically has the damaging ability to keep up, you're going to whiff so many attacks and it has a slow attack speed to go with it.

Sarcos can barely kill a fly. I kinda wish they would fix thier attack cone.

I've had no problems with Sarcos. Doing some small diving I would bring a gang of 5 Sarcos with me with the weakest being my mount. Everyone else is on Attack. Having a swarm of Sarcos speed swimming and biting looks pretty cool.

I got 2 Sarco one male and one female for mate bonus and have no problem killing Megalodon that way. If things start to get ugly just swim upp on land. Biggest problem I got is fighting wasps and bugs.... Big targets it's more easy.

♥♥♥♥ these comments. Was using sarcos religiously in the water even before the turn radius buff, back when it took like a full 5 seconds to turn 180 degrees. If you're facing off a megalodon simply bite in the ass then turn around and wait for it to close the gap, you'll be guaranteed to hit it if you let it come to you rather than you swimming up to it and potentially missing. It's worth mastering because the Spino operates with the same tactics and you can use it for deep sea diving down the line. Lvl 90 post tame and saddled should be able to take on any megalodon tho, even if attack will be pretty weak.

Thank you all for your responses.

I think I just got the worst Sarco experience ever. I went out into the deep sea to test it out. Saw one manta and decided to test the dmg and resistance. In a few seconds I was surrounded by another 3 mantas, 4 in total. They didn't let me move so they end up killing the sarco and myself. I lost a lot of nice gear there. Yay =)

I don't use sarcos at all anymore, their attacks and turn radius are just way too bad. Even worse when swimming imo since they're attacks force them to lunge forward. I'll probably use Kaprosuchus when it's released though.

For a while I was using a group of six megalodons for underwater diving and such.

These days? I use the Mantas cause they're just so fricking fast in the water.

Well I started playing like one month ago and the only other sea creature I'd used was the Ichthy. It can take you quite fast to the surface so you don't have to worry that much about oxygen. I was trying to have an alternative dino for pearls etc, something that could actually attack, but after this incident I won't be using Sarcos for that.
