Argentavis AI Problems
I know they want to make taming harder, but this is just a whole new level.

Instead of the Argentavis flying back to you like it normally did, it stays on an endless "running away" mode. Never ending. The Argentavis should be the dino it already was, there were no problems with it. You should be able to solo tame an Argentavis, because it is literally impossible to tame it without a Quetzal now. You need an Argentavis to tame a quetzal as well.

The developers really need to start takings single player under consideration. Now there is almost no way to tame an Argentavis without a tribe mate, I'm also not going to play on your time consuming servers.

Please fix this AI.

can tame one pretty easily on single player by making a box out of window frames with a dinosaur gate near one then just lure argent inside and close gate on it then just shoot through the open windows

True, but that is very resource heavy. This is most likely a glitch, I hope.

it's not as bad as you would think if make some crop plots can easily get enough narco and mejoberries to tame a low level beaver and can use dilos eggs to kibble tame a mid to high level ankylo if use them and a sickle can make a small taming box for a argent pretty quickly even on official rates

Still easier to tame it the other way though, and nobody complained about the Argentavis. It just makes no sense that they would make this change.

True was easier before but was stupid how creatures behaved as if they had no survival instincts at all and if got some decent gathering dinos can easily work around the AI change i play solo and on official gather rates and only takes 5-10min to get these structure items ready judging by what you said in original post your on boosted rates so for you it should be nothing more than a minor inconvenience to make them

Its the flee mechanic, not sure exactly to correct conditions but animals once they take a certain amount of hits, they run so you stop firing and they return, but at some stage they decide to never stop running im loosing tons of tames to it and the only solution or answer your going to get to this entire madness is build a box

I chased down a high level argentavis not so long ago, heres the story...

Im also getting extremely tired and fed up with this BS flee mechanic...

PS queztal is now solo tamable with metal chain bola, or at least that is what its for, havent tried myself i just cheat code that aminal into the game because i cant be bothered with the process, but i may give it a go at some stage.

Also, they really need to change this flee mechanic. It's so stupid, thanks for agreeing.

Nope, you just need to play smarter..

Bola's are your friend.

The Argentarvis used to attack if fired upon making taming fairly simple if you could withstand the attack with your armor. We're going to try to pin one down with a chain bola and see if we can fire enough darts in 15 seconds to knock it out. It's experimentation at this point. I don't think any mods have been installed on our server except The Center map. So the chain bola is probably available on official servers. We mounted the required Barista on a raft but you could no doubt mount one on the back of a Quetzal platform.

Alright, see how effective it is and tell us your results

Chain bolas are a bit more for an argy. Use the normal bola

The normal bola has no effect on the Argentavis unless they have fixed it.

I got my Argy by having to find it 3 times. It is truly frustrating but they don't fly to far . The hard part is the c enter map tree and mountain cover.
