I Had to replace my old Linksys Router few months ago. Bought new Netgear NightHawk and everything be better now..

That's my current issue - I completely understand it's Alpha but surely if there is many people having similair issues; surely it's on there cards to fix ASAP.
@SIRE CC: No, I am directly connected with a cable; I see you're in Canada, my PING would be monstorous being in down under.
Weird thing, it seems when there is more traffic (at night) it's affected more, this morning I tried and I could connect to the server in/out roughly 4 times with no issues?!?!

Ok that's good. Cuz wifi can be very twitchy. Have you rebooted your modem or all in one in awhile. They do get static build up in them over time and sometime the connection goes to ♥♥♥♥.
The only other thing is try other servers. Hopefully one that close too you. It may be just one server your playing on. But you said it happens on official too?
Official servers are laggy to begin with. Busy servers may have more lag.
What you could try but it is more of pain in the butt. If you have a router and modem setup.
Unhook the router. Connect directly to just the modem for just your PC. Do speed test make sure everything is ok run it a few times. ( www.speedtest.net) if check out ok. Then go connect to a server. ( if possible and you have just modem) if your download and uploads
Are not where they should be. You've found your issue.
I have 60 Mbps plan myself. My download is anywhere from 65 Mbps to sometime 70, Sometime during peak hours ( supper time) I may only get 59 to 62 Mbps. But ping is alway good. 10 to 30 ms.
Do a speed test with how your connected now. ( with router)
Then do speed test just connected with just modem. Yes pain in ass. But if you can connect better with out the router. Then could be router. ( Routers do start to weaken after 3-5 yrs) remember there on for 24 hrs a day. 365 day in a year. Modems can die too or all in ones.
I always tell everybody. Tell your ISP just give you modem. And use your own router.
Go spend good 100$ or more on good router.
If your connected just to the modem and done speed test and there huge difference or not close to same speeds. That could be issue. It could also be the modem.
If you don't have modem and just all in one. Those things are cheaply made and often die within 2-3 yrs. do you honestly think your isp going rent or sell you a good all in one? Modem/router? Hahah they cheaply made. No mater what name is on it. They cheap ones. Your own router with there modem is best setup for any serious gamer.
If evething thing is all ok. With just modem. Or if you can't. Just all in one. Ping and download speed is where it should be. Then it could be something with your internet. May need call your ISP. have send out tech or replace the all in one or modem router.
But my server has been up for over a year and yes there always minor issues and yes game is still beta. Patches sometime break things. But I have not had any disconnects in while. But I connect to my ark server threw the lan. I have players from Australia connecting to me here in Alberta Canada. And they have been fine with very low ping. Like 50 to 90 ish. lol which is dam good. Consider they on other side the world.
The only other thing is. Perhaps windows firewall could have changed ?
I'd also check see if you issues with other internet apps and games. Try playing during busy times too make sure they are ok. If so. Then it could be ark.
Try power cycle your modem/router. Check net cables. On back your PC. Unplug and plug back in, same with router/modem or all in one.
You also coild try jitter test or just ping test. If you get b+ or better. You ok. If less.
Then you have your answer. May have do test during peek times.
The only other thing, did this just started recently? Are you play with mods?
Have you tried fresh install of ark? I had re install my ark 3 weeks ago.
Not sure what else to suggest if your hardware check out ok and net check out ok. Atlest you know for 100% sure it's not your internet. But always wise to eliminate other varables.

Yes it's pain in the butt. But if you slowly go threw all things. Sooner or later. Something shows up as being an issue and your like " dang never thought that could happens "
The other option. Try playing ark at friends PC or family. You can log on steam on another PC and install ark. If fine their,. No d/c. Then you know it issue
Your welcome to try connect my server. And yes it's pain in butt trying find it at first. I think it's steam issue. Cuz I run isle server too and ppl see it fine and connect with no issues.
I also have about 7 mods for my ark server.( center map) . Every new player always disconnect the first time downloading all the mods first. But once they have mods. Find server in steam server list or on web page. They connect and fav it. They fine after that.

Thanks for asking those questions, I have treid to decipher them as best as possible, please see answers below.
Q. You said it happens on official too?
A. I have tried both unofficial and official, both have the same affects.
Q.. Do a speed test with how your connected now?
A. My sync speed to my modem/router is 6939/908
Q. Do you honestly think your isp going rent or sell you a good all in one? Modem/router?
A. Most ISP supply garbage modems/router, however I have a billion 7800N (2 years old). This isn't the issue.
Q. Have send out tech or replace the all in one or modem router.
A. Not the issue.
Q. I have my own server, decent ping for us Aussie roughly 50 - 90 PING (pretty decent).
A. Could you please send me your server details (If it isn't private) I can test this theory on your server.
Q. Perhaps windows firewall could have changed ?
A. Windows firewall is currently turned off.
Q. Have you tried other games/apps?
A. I play Day-Z which is a whole lot worse in regards to Server issues etc etc. I can get into the Servers no worries.
I also play CS:GO and have no issues with servers, can always leave/return with-ease.

A. It's not the cables, I have an old PSTN line phone which has good detection on noise or static on the line, no issues.

A. No, I have cleared the ARKSAVE file and ARKSAVED folders, still experience the same isssue.

A. Yes, as previously stated in OP I had done a uninstall/download/install of ARK and all proprietary folders.

A. Brand new PC; i7 6900 4.5GHZ, GTX1080, 32g RAM Corsair, 850W PSU

A. A mate is running the same OS (Similair specs) he doesn't have these issues, I am nearly ready to go over to his and copy his ShooterGames folder.

A. Could you please send through your server name/IP.
Other than that, does your provider throttle or restrict access to some sites? It could have put them on that list and that may be causing your timeouts.

Hello, just trying help. It could be a very small thing or could be something you never think of.
As Admin I've ran into all kinda issues from both software/hardware to big and small..
alright, It could be windows 10 issue,, but when I said speed test. I meant

When you do speed test, make sure nobody else in your house is not doing netflix/Youtube or anything else to data demanding or you wont get very good score..
Do a internet speed test and ping check.. A ping check is VERY important, At top of
speed test page.. Click Ping test, run it..You should get B or higher..

Search for on steam servers
View-> Servers -> Favorites -> Add a server
enter the just ip.. click - find games at this Address

A lot ppl are having issues with Windows 10. It may correct some things but make more issue with others.. Other Dev have said DX 12 is broken and very few games yet take full advantage of it yet. I think Vulkan API is going where should go but that for another topic..
Nice system specs.. But A modem/router/all in one still could go bad. Not saying yours isn't ok but have seen happened before.. If its all in one = its crap. Ive seen bran new one fail after only 6 month of use..
I have 2 Aussie playing on my server.. No issues unless
- my net goes down
- Thunderstorms and power goes out or
- Patch or mod screw up..
As for playing at friends.. do a steam backup. Save onto like 32 GB USB flash drive if you want. Don't just copy over. That screw things up more.
1- Do steam backup onto large enough USB flash Drive.. Fresh install should be approx
25-32 GB. Give or take.. Not sure how much will be compressed with steam backup..
My ark on game pc is sitting around 53 GB with mods..
2- Log on at friends pc on his steam (your account) and with your USB Backup... plug in
click restore.. Let it copy and it will download any patches and install..
3- Play game
If no issues then you know now there issue on your end somewhere..Bad install, hardware
or software (it could be windows 10.. )
My assuie mod friend has windows 10 and its bran new MSI system and its crashes more times for him with ark then I do for my windows 7 for ark.
I still crash, Ark is still beta but not as often. got total 11 who've logged on my server. Include myself.. Nobody has mention any dis-connection problems or errors too me.. Nothing in my admin logs either.. and I have Isle server running also..aprox 20 players loggin on and off on that all day.. It is very buggy but had no issues..
The other thing could be is, you could spy or malware in the background..
Windows 10 is known spy on you.. and was just in news recently. a Lady sues MS for having windows 10 install on her pc..

I've hurd ppl downgrading to Windows 7 or 8 just play ark properly.. Shrugs..

So last night; I did a "Verify game" and just started smashing the "Join game" After about the 5th attempt it went into the server and downloaded all requirements for that server.
THEN! I did the unthinkable, I meant to hit "escape" then "options", nope I hit escape then "Exit to main menu" - WHAT A BLOODY IDIOT! I thought it was all over, had to do it all again! The first time I tried joining it timed out/disconnection... Second time joined the game successfully.
@Sire CC - Mate I know you're trying to help and I completely thank you. Your server was unfortunately offline for me last night, I couldn't ping it either.
