DC underwater anddd your dead..
So I was under water earlier with my scuba stuff on and I DC. My internet sucks.... but when I logged on i was dead. Turns out your character doesn't use the tank while KO'ed. Is it possible to add the ability to log off with tanks on and use them so if my internet is down for more than a minute I can live?

It might make being underwater more livable than being forced to stay on land all the time to have a base and live (living my dream as a mer-man and forming a clan of mer-people). Of course that is just a thought if you made logging out with a tank on able to last a longgggg time ~24hrs. This is a random thought lol

Unfortunately that is how it has always been. Going underwater is like playing Russian roulette. Tank duration? I had some pretty good MC ones and they wouldnt have come close to lasting 24hours, maybe 6ish? hrs, ben some time since I used them and was usually 30min to 1 hr dives.

I suspect it's to do with how the game handles logged out players.
If I'm not making things up right now, I believe an unconscious body is treated as a different physical object than an active player character, and as such doesn't follow the same laws we expect for a player character to follow.
Being a pretty basic game function, I suspect we won't see changes to it at this stage in development, if ever.

On the upside, watertight structures have been on the to do list, I believe. I'd put my money on that, but both would be long term goals.

This is one of the things i hated most, even made a topic about this a few months back. If you DC underwater while wearing scuva you're dead and thats it, which is pretty stupid. I wish they would at least give us a few minutes when wearing scuba before the drowning starts. Also, finding your body underwater is the worst thing ever.

Never dive without expecting to die. Been like that since Day 1. Naked and Afraid is the only way to go whether it's diving or flying. Welcome to Ark..oh and "it's EA" is not really a viable excuse anymore for how long this has been in EA at this point.

Well technically we are still in the Alpha stage, Beta will bring optimization and other fixes.

I imagine it would be hard to fix, but imagine logging out underwater like you would on land. It would open the opens up to being more inviting and have more people explore and build. I personally can't wait for underwater bases but logging out with scuba underwater should not be instantaneous death IMO (well your character should still use the air in the tank)
