Building on mountains...
Hi, I'm playing with friends on a private server (patched to the latest build).

To speed up our progress, we figured we'd try to build a small outpost on top of metal mountain.
But when we try to place foundations up there, we only get the error "Cannot place structures here".
We've tried every form of building foundation, from thatch to stone (we don't have metal yet). And we tried pillars. Have not tried fence foundation.

As far as I can see, there are a lot of people complaining on the forums about griefers building foundations all over metal mountain. So I don't understand why we aren't allowed to do this.

Is this how it's supposed to be? Or is there some setting we've forgotten on the server?

Happy for any advice or information on this.

Cheers!

In update 242.0 they added: * Added option for PvE Servers to disable building around critical resource node regions

Could be the culprit.

1) you can lock resource intensive areas so people can not build on them.
2) where ever you build any type of foundation, there is a ( alterable ) range where nothing will respawn back ( at the range ) so by building on a mountain with resources, once they are harvested they would never spawn back under normal conditions ( re-fertilizer exception ) so they added something to prevent this from happening ( see #1 )

Alright, thanks so much for feedback guys. I was looking through the patch notes, but obviously managed to oversee this.
Again, thanks for great explanations!
