WTH? start up solo game and all my items are gone

IM plaing a stand alone game, and I login when I ge thome to find my forge gone,a nd the storage box I had items in empty. what happened and how can I recover the stuff?

Are you sure you where playing alone? Havent you started a non dedicated server/session or what is called? And if items are gone you cant recover them.
Or, see if you miss clicked and enter the wrong map, for example, you play on the island and you missclicked and enter the center.

Nope. Im on a local map with no server. and Ive only been playing one map. everything was there when I logged out last night

Single player is has been known to have problems with random glitches since the game was released on EA

It's probably a glitch. If you lost a heap of important stuff, spend time learning to love console commands and spawn it back in. I've lost count of the number of times i've had to ghost/fly/god my way out of a bugged area.

Solo play is by far the easiest to resolve problems. There's all kinds of console commands to help. You can spawn/tame dinos and spawn in items using the console to replace any losses.

It's the new creature just released on The Island. You got food, which drains. You got stamina, which drains. You got the new creature, Rats, which drain your stuff. That's it fella, you got rats.

You know that would work.. introduce rats, or some other creature that steal stuff, and all these complaints about missing gear, materials, even dinos would/could be blamed on that creature acting out it's part on The ARK.
Maybe that cheesy little monkey that opens doors could fill the role.... but I like rats best.

Singleplayer
The game saves like your last 10 session, plus it has a corruption back up too.
Just restore to one of the earlier save files.

And how do I restore? Plus I just found that several engrams I had already bought was GOne when I logged in

Sounds like the game did not save and you got rolled back to an earlier version. You can use the 'cheat' commands in single player to create or add what ever you want.

Its funny when a game appears more stable when connect to a dedicated server then single player!

In your SaveARKLocal folder you will see

TheIsland.ark

that is your last save

Just pick one of the older save file and rename it to (TheIsland.ark) after you delete the last save file
They all have date and time in the line just rename it.
