Argentavis tame

Hello,
Why when i try to tame an argentavis it flies away after a few tranq shots?

all dinos do it its a game mechanic now

oh it's a new thing? because when i played this game ( like an year ago ) they didn't fly away..
and now when i came to the game back i realised it

they also run off or try to if they take ot much damage

Damn that makes it hard as ♥♥♥♥ to tame.. Especially an argentavis

What's the easily and fastest way to tame? So they won't fly away like that and I'll tranq them before they fly?

get a 2 times 4 times 4 stone box, kite the argent inside, close the gate, easy tranq, easy tame

edit: get some normal doors too :D

It actually make it a bit easier, they will circle around and come back (it usually means it's 1 or 2 headshots away from KO).

Once it turns around head to generally where you want it to be KO'd (you can get them inside taming pens or the outer walls of your base).

Basically, be patient, wait for it to start flying at you again and pop off a couple of headshots.

Forget all the "taming pen" nonsense. Just use bolas or bear traps and shoot them while they are stuck and can't move. One bola/trap should be plenty to get enough tranq into an Argent to down it. Bigger pray can mean a well laid out line of traps to lure it over as you shoot tranqs at it.

The flee and return seems broken now... had 2 argy's fly away and despawn.

In the past month I haven't had a single Argent return once it flees. In fact quite the opposite. It will just flee forever. It's not that big of a deal when you already have one to chase it... but if you are going for your first one it's incredibly frustrating.

So what I do now is instead of taming an Argent as my first flyer, I tame a Ptera first since you can use a bola to keep them still while you tranq it. Then you at least have a flyer to assist in taming an Argent later.

Fast transport, heavy carrier, decent prime meat harvester, scout... why would anyone NOT want at least one HL Argenta????
Of course, if you play on a modded server with small dragons, it's useless.
