tree top bases: the pros and cons.
so with this latest patch and the new redwood biome, players now have the means to build bases high in the treetops of the redwood forests.

naturally, this comes with its own share of issues, but for those interested here is a quick, down to earth view of the benefits AND drawbacks of using this new base system.

PROS:
-Your base is out of reach of most animals. only flyers or the largest of land animals will be able to reach you. This means you have to worry much, much less about a random wild animal attack on your base. (some platforms can even avoid wild gigas depending on the surrounding terrain.)
-you can view stuff approching your base from much farther away thanks to a height advantage.
-you can be an ewok.
-projectiles are REQUIRED to deal with your outer defenses, melee attacks, and C4 cant reach your first line defenses unless ferried by a flyer directly on your base.
-Multiple Treetops can be interlinked to produce a honeycomb network to maximize damage control. (raiding multiple platforms at once can be time consuming)

CONS:
-platforms can be destroyed taking everything on it down with it, though it will take more then normal amout of hits to destroy one. (wooden platform has 40,000hp each, with metal having 60,000hp each)
-storing dinos without an argent or quetzal will be a giant pain, as you need to obviously get them up there somehow until you get elevators working.
-limited building space per platform.
-very poor for storing large dinos (bronto/giga/titano/spino/rex).

if you have anything you feel like adding feel free to add, but the decision is certainly up to you.
