Chem table is just a faster Mortar and Pestle. My guess is the Ind Grinder is a machine to break down items into individual components, eg Stone wall back into Stone Wood Thatch (much like the mod of the same name). Heck it possibly is that mod going official.

I was going to say something close to this.

Nooo that would be stupid make no sense. Why would you craft a wall, then want to break it into the same components again. Just make another wall. If you mean break built structures then it would need to be portable and I don't see that happening.

My theory is that it is going to be a compactor so make maybe stone into compact stone like it stacks 10x more so we can craft big blueprints. Maybe tek tier, maybe need black pearls and stuff n things to work.

Or maybe it will grind the stone into ... sand? If they decide to add more substances like from primitive plus over into main game.

Anyway either way probaly will not carea bout it like they give us new item to make gas mask but I play PVE so have no use to spend 1000's engram points on a single item.

its like you put prime meat in and it breaks it down into 20 raw or some thing. it doesnt actually break walls and such. its to turn one resource into another far as i saw... could be wrong.

Could be like disenchanting from WoW. i've got many useless items laying around that I could grind down to their raw materials for recycling.

no, i'm pretty sure what he said was just an example of an item. i think he's going more towards other items. maybe things like a ramshackle flak helmet, something you may not use, or apprentice cloth gloves you get from a loot crate in a cave or something like that, you can break these items down, and get what it takes to make them, so if that ramshackle flak helmet costed like, 30 ingots, and 5 hide (this is an example) you would get that back. thus providing a use for the items that are pretty much trash end game.

but i'm pretty sure even then, this isn't what the industrial grinder is used for. i like your idea better. they said somewhere in a ark digest that a tek tier item, called the Replicator, would be able to do the idea he was going for.

But its a grinder not a compactor. it will msot likely grind stone into flint or wood into thatch and thattch into fiber and those sorts of things

Yes Bignastycupcake, it was indeed just an example and the other examples you listed were more what I was thinking. I used Stone Wall as it was the first thing that came to mind that i could think of what the raw materials were off of the top of my head.

But, it is pure speculation at this point. For all I know Commander Wiggley Biggly™ and others could be right with the idea of it grinding raw materials into other types of baser raw materials (like the prime meat to raw meat, or stone to flint idea), however, I do think the breaking down of finished goods is more likely

I believe it would only provide a fraction of the resources to prevent xp gaming.

If they are using the same idea as a MOD with the same name it turns stone into Flint, wood into thatch, prime meat into meat into ground meat (which spoils wicked fast) and thatch into fiber.

Ground meat? Is it like, extra efficient to tame or what? Why would you want a quick spoiiling food.

Also that mod sounds really.... useless. Industrial makes me think it will cost like 2000 metal 1000 poly 2000cp etc. IFor those costs I would want something more than what you mention.
