HELP! No Snap Points on Tree Platforms?
Trying to start my tree fort, but there are no snap points on the platform. How does this work?

Lot of people having the same problem, I do not think they do work and this whole patch is nothing but broken dreams. There was a reason they delayed the patch multiple times yesterday and this morning, it's just plain broke and they knew it.

Works fine ive alredy got a base going. They will only snap onto 2 points in the tree, and u need to be on a large dino or bird to be able to reach the height of the lower one. Jump on a quetz and fly up the tree and youll see the snap points.

Also make sure your snapping to the big trees, not the smaller ones.

A tree platform is meant to work in the same way as a dino platform. One of the devs commented this on a similar thread earlier. You have to place a foundation or fence foundation on the platform first.

You're misunderstanding my post. Yes, you snap the platform onto the tree but I'm assuming the OP is referring to how to BUILD on the platform itself. The platform itself does not have snap points like a normal structure. You have to place a foundation or fence foundation to build a base on the platform.

Yeah this is what I meant. That is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb because it is 12 sided and the sides are too long to just use fence foundations to make the shapes... They need to make custom walls and stuff for these...

Here is the best solution I have come up with so far: Start with a fence foundation in the middle of each side and then 1 ff on each side of that middle one.

Here is a pic:

It is intentional that it does not have snap points. It works just like the ground or other platform saddles.

Yes someone above said this. Due to the weird shape and size of these platforms I really hope you guys add custom structures to go with these platforms in future (Would love to see some rope bridges, custom sized "fence foundations" and walls etc.). It is just a pain in the ass to build on at the moment. The new biome is absolutely beautiful, and I was really looking forward to these platforms for a new base, but I was a bit let down by how hard they are to build with, and connect, and will probably just end up building on the ground because it is less wonky.

Do you think you guys will consider adding more custom structures for these in future or will you leave it up to modders?

^ you gotta put down some foundations to build houses and stuff on the platforms

Building on the platform is a pain in the eye.
Its as worse as the pillars which dont have the same heigth as walls.

If they have some unexpected problems with and they decide to change it im ok with it, but if they think to keep that because its 'working as intended' i would say its just a mess without any love to detail.
