So , does the Titanosaur destroy metal or not?
I hear mixed messages , if it is true , i have have major gripes with that.

If the Titanosaur does have that ability , why would anyone build c4 or rockets again ever?
Its capabilities would be so high , its laughable how much less recources it would take to tame one of those things vs gathering tons and tons of recources to build several hundred explosives.
I praise the devs for thier idea to make it a temporary tame , and it can be more powerful than a giga and have tons of hp , but still , if it is true and it destructs metal , all pvp will be centered to just get them and all stragetic nuances to raid an enemy base would be reduced to 'get a titano and hit it till its gone'.

On official servers, there will only ever be a maximum of 3 of them spawned anywhere on island. They will take forever to tame with default Official settings and are only temporarily tamed. While some tribes may view the Titan as the ultimate war machine, the constant retaming and rearming of this dino will end up making it more of a hassle than it is likely worth. While some other tribe is off taming this beast for 8 hours, you can quickly build the c4 and rockets and take their base out. Not to mention, you could probably spy a titan being tamed from the sky and alert your tribe to attack them while they are preoccupied. It is all in strategy and tactics. If you cannot figure out the advantages and disadvantages, you are gonna have a bad time in this game.

The titanosaurus might be a hard tame and only exist 18hours as a tamed dino , but no it having metal destroying capabilities is still too much , and i play pretty much since the beginning so dont tell me that you can farm c4 and rockets quickly for a strongly defended base.
18hours is still enough of a timeframe to destroy a lot of stuff especially offline (we could theorize how much you can get done with it in one night) , it can run up to bases soak up bullets and healed up by the new 'tasty cakes' , imo everything can stay exept metal destruction capabilities.
from what i hear the chain bola does 100 torpor per hit in the head, the titansaur i spawned in on my private server had 80k torpor, on that it would take 800 chain bolas direct hitting its head to tame one, i can only see large tribes working together being able to tame one.......but alot of the taming info is up in the air at the mo.

I am not sure about what game you are playing but I have plenty of materials at my base to quickly make a rocket launcher and c4 if needed. If you are new to a server or low level, yes, that stuff can take a while to accumulate. But once you are the right level with the right gear, you can accumulate all that is needed pretty easily. If you do not then you are playing the game wrong.

Sorry but did you ever raid a well defended large base?
Those can take several rundred rockets and c4 , also many many rocket launchers and a fair amount of time and strategy.
Taming a gigantic dino , (with ome effort granted) and walking up to a base and spamming left click does not compare , sorry.

Depends if its offline or online. Abusing the render distance and finding the generator then focusing a section of the wall down to destroy it and shutting off all the turrets is the best way to raid a base nowadays. That and imprinted turtles with mastercraft saddles. Reduces that turret damage down to 15 :steammocking:

Firstly with well defended i mean several smartly placed generators which cant be reached unless under much turret and plant x fire , and i also mean a base which has addionally with complete sentry defense a whoooole lot of plant x turrets which kinda negate the usefullness of turtles since you would need many many many of them.
And yes some bases even take several hundred c4 and rockets to offline raid , you need to calculate vaults in , which are as we learnen under the metal category.
So i can waltz up to a base with a titano , ♥♥♥♥ up all its defenses with left click , and at the same time see the sweet loot spilling out of thier vaults , yeeeeeah.....

Im selfishl bumping this thread again , i think this discuession needs to be going and devs need to take attention about the flaws.....
Honestly it's not neccesarily the metal destroying dino existing I'm against, it's the execution. It's like how the Gigan can wreck stone, it's just unneccesary on an animal already so loaded up with traits. Really if you want a balanced approach to metal damage IMHO, it should be something like a specialized saddle for the Ankylosaurus and have heavy drawbacks like saddle durability and blockback damage. And even then, I'd have it be just chip damage to help finish off a door you just C4'd.

Yeah , i agree mostly , but its worse now.
At least with the giga introduction you had a chance to actually switch up to metal , as it is now , there is nothing to do to protect yourself against this.
I can understand the metal breaking thing a little bit... after all my giga taming strategy is to trap it in a metal box, and if this was possible with the titano it would be a bit too easy...

Well you can't feed it anyways so the tasty cakes won't help the Titanosaurus.

I think it's probably balanced for the most part for PvP but I would have to agree. The ability to destroy metal would be too easily abused I think and it just increases the chances of one tribe basically owning their server.
quick someone make a mod to perma keep titansaurs.. atleast make it perm for pve.. it has no value for pve servers..
IMHO I think the Titian is pretty well balanced and well implimented. There needed to be some dino that could get past metal as otherwise you could sit behind metal and smirk and not worry so much. Bringing us a dino that can get you past metal walls had to happen but just thinking that way could have given us a OP killer that pretty much ruined anyone's chances in PVP. Now comes having to think when it comes both to offense and defense. You can't keep them around long so you have to catch them near to the time you plan your raid but that can mean having to have time and resources to get one tamed, built on and ready to go without jeapordizing the time and resources you need for your raid/war. In many ways this is also a defense for th other side. They maybe able to coount on tribes not going for the time and trouble to bring a Titian against them. Of course if they are the biggest tribe on the block and have the toughest nut to crack they now have to worry about whether a lesser tribe will decided the time and resources are worth it and have to start looking over their shoulder. I can see strategies like making sure your tribe/alliance always has all the Titians tamed and locked in the base as a good stretgy to defend against Titian attacksbut is it worth that to you? So one will have to decide if they are worth the trouble to get or decided to just fight the "old fashioned way". I many way the Tiitian maybe a very good offense but its ability to be tammed and kept is everyone elses defense.
