Was just going to link this... ^^ this ^^ this ^^
The platforms snap to the trees at certain heights only and 7 walls apart, Trees next to each other probably wont be at the same height.
The platform can collide with terrain or other trees.
Put a bunch of screenshots on my profile. will do a better guide later with clearer pics showing each step, these were pulled out of a heap of screenies while I was messing around working it out.
Use this step in the platform and the foundation legs to get the foundation square, edge back and forth and turn slightly so you get all three legs appearing and vanishing out of the front of that lip at the same time.

Now without moving the mouse, use WASD to align centrally on the metal bracket, then move forward until the trunk obstructs placement.

Briefly tap the S until you can JUST place the foundation.
Now snap another THREE to that foundation extending straight out from the trunk. I've placed FOUR more in this picture, don't place the last one overhanging the outside.

Demolish the TWO closest to the trunk. Leaving two foundations remaining out in the middle of the segment. We have to demolish these because they get in the way and "grab" the in-between segments we need to place later and snap them wrong.
Repeat for all 6 sides with the brackets.
Now you've had some practice repeat for the 6 sides in between the brackets. It's pretty tricky to get it dead center without the bracket but with a wide FOV you can look at the edges of your monitor where angled lines of the platform enter the screen, if it's symmetrical you're in the middle.
Place another three foundations for the non bracket segments so you have lines of 4.
Replace the two inner foundations which were deleted for the six bracket segments.
Now place one foundation on each side of the outer ends of your row of 4 so you have T shapes. Test alignment with some wooden walls or window frames, they should be very close. This was my first try.

If you arent happy with the alignment demolish the segment and try again.
Now fill in the foundations working from the outside in, You can snap to the sides of the T and the foundations will overlap a bit, but it will leave a few triangular holes like this. If you move around and jump while standing over the hole you can fill it in, with some care you can align the planks with one of the neighbouring foundations (not like I did here)

End result of the floor looks a little bit janky but not too bad, and it's flat with no gaps.

Final alignment of the outside.

Wider shot, doesnt look too bad, Sun behind it to show the misalignment in the worst possible light.
