Extreme Cold?
Hey guys, I'm playing The Center map, and I have a base up on top of the waterfall close to the island with all the Penguins, and its really cold here. I have full fur armor, 40 points in Fortitude and even eating Fira Curry and I'm still freezing to death the second I leave my cosy little base. The days seem fine as long as Im wearing fur, but the nights, oh boy. Is this normal? Do I need more Fortitude? Maybe I could strap a heater to my butt. :p

Temperature on Center seems strange sometimes, I got a base on a beach (near skull island) And sometimes during nights we get -5c, -7c o.O And sometimes is really hot, upwards 28c
Fortitude should help, but still your gonna need alot.

If your playing single / hosting yourself / can influence unofficial server owner, you could get Rawr Beacon, it boosts the loot in beacons some and makes it so you wont get compass blueprints 24/7 :p This makes is so you can get Fur armor from beacon drops, these can be of better quality and will help you survive the cold even better :)

Even with all the modern day equipment, it is still possible to freeze in places like the Arctic or Everest. So, yes, it is still possible to freeze in Ark even with fur armor on. But what Elvarion said is true, only better quality fur armor will help as it has higher thermal qualities. You will either need a mod or you can configure the supply drops yourself now, if you know how, to make it drop higher quality armor. The regular primitive stuff will always be lacking.

Push comes to shove, I believe taming a few penguins will also help you mitigate some of that cold.

The temperatures on The Center get a little crazy sometimes, probably because the difficulty is higher. Even in places that are supposed to be warm i'm still occasionally freezing even with 30 Fortitude.

That's NEGATIVE 74 F or -59C for you metric people.

On official servers (or private with vanilla beacon drops) higher quality fur armor can be obtained from deep sea crates. You can also get high quality scuba parts from them that will give about 300+- hypothermal resistance, per piece.
