Can't edit .ini files

So, I recently tried ARK again, because I hadn't played in a LONG time and so much was added.
I jumped into a singleplayer game and remembered why I had quit (I love Singleplayer and dislike the multiplayer, because my friends don't play this), it was because I couldn't edit my .ini files anymore.
I've tried everything that Google helped me find but nothing worked:
Putting the .ini files on read only
Using the ARK server manager and copying over the .ini files
Removing them and re-applying the modifications.

Nothing seems to work to have it change ingame. I put my Singleplayer harvest rate on x5 (which means I should get 5 times as much harvest yield from anything I mine/chop/etc, tried putting it on 2, 100, 10, 99, but just nothing worked.
So, as said, I tried the ARK Server Manager and copied the files in the folder to my original ARK folder in the hope that would work, but it does nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I really want to get back into ARK.

The location of the files I'm trying to edit is:
Steam\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

If your playing SP those setting are done on the setup screen in the beginning, just type a number in the box I know it works because I do it.

The problem is that not everything is editable in that screen. There's far more options you can utilise in the .ini file, which is why I want that working.
I know for a fact that it used to work for me and I have seen zero threads about this feature being disabled, which means it still is able, I just currently can't get it to work.

Uhm,
-Reinstall the game
-Delete the .ini's and let steam revalidate
-Copy someone else's .ini files and overwrite yours.
-Install the game on a different location/disk

Maybe you can try something of the above.

Could you perhaps post, or point me to, edited .ini files up for grabs?

I'll remove the .ini's and let my Steam revalidate.

You can change the harvest rate on that screen, though. Try that, see if it works, then go confirm which file it updated.

And/or post here the locations and contents of the files you are trying to edit. Maybe someone will see the problem.
