Late game weapon choice: Xbow or Rifle?

Hey guys I just want to do a survey about the weapon you guys prefer in late games. Could you guys talk about your choices?

I play in an official PVE server. I owed a mc Xbow with 185% attack, and I also have a jm rifle with 155% attack. To ko a 120 Rex with the Xbow I only need 8 more hits than the rifle. However, the cost of making darts and repairing the rifle is much higher than that of my Xbow. So although should be more used in late games, the rifle is actually a useless stuff to me.

I already reached lvl 80 and I'm still using Xbow, which is kind of weird for someone who already played 700 hours. Do you guys make the same decision as I do? Or you have a better reason to use the rifle?

I use the rifle because it does less damage and there's less drop. For me the darts are easy to make and for stuff like quetzals the low damage and less drop helps a lot

I use the longneck with darts and the compound bow with metal arrows. My bow does 150% damage and 250 durability (I think) my rifle is a mastercraft 140% dam and 200 durability.

My favourite is the compound but before I unlocked it I used the bow, I don't like the crossbow

I had an ascendant compound bow with 600% damage and 1100 durability. It did bout 400-500 damage per hit and lasted for ever, but there was no way I could ever afford to repair it. I died to a Rex that stuck up on me and couldn't get it back. Found in deep sea loot crate

If you are using it to knock out something that has high health I would use a Crossbow but something like a dodo I would use a Longneck. The crossbow uses less instant torpor damage which will take longer to knockout but if you are using the longneck it deals instant torpor damage and does less damage. Either way they still take about the same time to reload. My choice would be Longneck Rifle for knocking out.

I always use the longneck rifle for knockouts since less likely to accidently kill your tame and the compound bow if feel like going hunting on foot just for fun
