Also server side option to disable the Fever, or just make dying cure it!
"Hey look, its a swamp, wonder what lives th e r e ... NOPE NOPE NOPE" <- Learning
The cures for many of things in Real Life, are often found from the source, so no.. its perfect that way. ( its not like while you are infected, you are going to get "more infected" and now the affliction gives you a BONUS?!?!?!? )
No, I think it is a step in the right direction. Too many games "hand hold people". The first time you get infected, you learned something. Tought it out, earn the cure, and survive. I am looking forward to more "afflictions".
Suiciding shouldnt cure it.. ( otherwise there is no point in havig them exsist in the first place )
you forgot the 100's of cementing paste... ( that has to be nerfed 10-30 is fine, 100-450 is just stupid )
As for the leech itself , i don't think they rare , and easy to kill since they are super slow , or perhaps you should have a big dino to protect you at swamp .
Thee current Swamp fever do not kill you as long as you keep yourself full till you get the cure.
They are making the game almost impossible for new players and thus with no new people the servers get quiet, stale and boring for the old players. Then they get to shut down the hundreds of almost empty official servers they are leasing.
Fall from the top of the world, drown in the bottom of the ocean, get eaten by a giga, eat one's own poop, die and respawn with a new health body. Catch some sort of VD from a leech and it doesn't go away until a cure is found.
Yup that really fits in the game.
In each of your situations, a normal cause and effect happened.. you tried to die.. and you died..
In none of those situations is your "character" diseased ( the engram implant itself that brings you eternal life in your arm ) and in every situation that you discribed of dying, each one of those you would still be diseased.. and would have died..
You were not suffering any affliction, you simply died. Disease and Death are completely different things.
Diseases are a neat idea, but this particular one isn't anything that adds excitement or interest in the early levels. It's just an annoyance, can't be removed by dying and doesn't expire on it's own after a few days. It's tough on lowbies, very easy to fix for high level players and people are using it for griefing purposes. Get rid of the disease and re-think it, devs. It's poorly thought out and poorly implemented.
