how to store dinos ?
Have a fenced area and inside i built my house, but i tamed 7 or 8 dinos now and they are in the way all the time. What do you guys do to have them out of your way ?
Building boxes for each pet ? or some smaller fenced areas to separate them ? What material you make them of if so ?

For me i always try and build a little corral. And it depends on what the envionrment is like around ur base. if its very hostile i would say make a stone wall all the way around where u want to house ur dinos. of if its in a very peaceful and herbivor area, u can just use wood to keep dinos out. Build at least 3 high just so nothing can get in or out and u should be fine. Just make sure ur dinos arnt to close to the wall so they wont agro anything aggressive

I build egg trees for females.

my wife in the past, has done stables outside, or raised platforms with ramps for eggs to roll down indoors.
I am inclined more to have a designated spot where I just park them, largely without structures.

on my current round, I'm planning to try to build a primarily vertical "shelf" storage for dinos that are primarily egg layers, but just park the ones that are in active utility.

"wander" is nice in some ways... but in large its just inconvenient.

the more dinos you have the larger dino pen you need. The last base I made on official before leaving was 86 behemoth gates long in a jelly bean shape.

try thinking vertically. store dinos on ground, then build a platform above em and store more on top. more efficient that way. Just be aware that dinos will occasionally fall thru the ceilings.

The main problem for me is dinosaur-doors to the pens. i already have the wooden dinosaur gate but bigger pets just dont fit through, have to build the frame without a door.

I just enclose a massive area and then there's plenty of room for as many dinos as I want. It I collect too many I just extend outwards a few foundations on each side of the enclosure.

on our previous server we had a big big barn for all small to medium sized dinos, which was ~13x9 foundations area, five floors linked together with 2-wide ramps, each floor being 4 walls high. With on one side on the bottom floor a behemoth gate. The top floor acted also as an aviary, with seperate doors.
the larger dinos we just kept in a big yard outside, walled off with 4 high stone walls. Each group of dinos had at least 1 rex or spino as guarddog.
Do note this was on PvE, so we actually had the time to build this big. if you're on pvp, might be different.

Well, im alone and the one-wall high fence i built around my place took much ressources, guess i have to collect more. I have some of those little learn-faster-dinos, that look like a small sausauge(lol), do someone know how big their teaching-range is ? i plan to have a few among my dinos to make them lvl faster.

behemoth gate sized dinos stay outside.

outter wall should have a behemoth gate so they can come and go as needed.

I usually just enclose a massive area and line my dinos up against the wall. Keep in mind that the wall has to be high enough that large dinos like rex's and giga's can't just walk over and chomp on your dinos heads.

Stables/garages for me. I'm past the point of taming everything in sight, so I can afford to make enclosures for each pet :)

I thought about that too but what doors do you use, or do you only enclose smaller creatures ?

I usually have one very compact building with dinos on slopes for my eggfarm and the useful dinos depending on dangerousness of the area. If pve/harmless i build small stables/aviaries and position them nicely in my yard.

But in hostile environment we have a 4x4x2 Behemoth Gate "Box Fortress" with walls behind the gates of height 3+ with 4 "levels" inside, all reachable with ramps. That way we currently store ~40 rexes, 15 argens, 14 rhinos, 10 quetz, 10 doeds, 8 ankys, 6 beavers, 3 gigas and 50-60 smaller useless dinos in one building. It has a cellar below the "big box" with all crafting/storage/breeding needs. That way we can easily navigate to each dino without getting stuck. Only negative side is that some rexes (the bad ones) are stuck back behind 10 other rexes so you will probably never again move them^^

My personal favorite thing to do is, that i secure non rideable small dinos, like dilos, dimetrodons, etc. with wood at their place so they do not get ruined when mistakenly whistling "follow all".

At "beginning stages" double walls are usually not the way you go since it's expensive. I would build a not too ugly looking rather large "hall" with 6 height or 12 height with 2-3 floors. That ways you can store very many dinos without having too much problems.

I play on a server with the GateMod installed, so I just use whichever gate they can best fit in. I guess in vanilla, dino gates for most of everything will be the way to go, and one enclosed garage can fit one mid sized dino or at least two raptor-sized dinos.

If you feel that a dino-gate garage is too big for something like, say, a lone anky, you can store more in it by making the garage have two "floors" with a ramp at the side opposite the gate (since a dino gate is 4 walls high, you can have each floor be two walls high). I hope that made sense.

Last time I played (had a 6 month break), two-high walls were not enough to move around ankylos without a problem, as they got stuck on the ceilings. needed at least 3 walls high. might be fixed, might not be. worth testing I guess?
