cos people use the search function which ironically is the other thing people like to moan about when people don't use it.

They could work the exact same mechanism differently and make it seem like a fun game instead of an aritifical grind. Instead of English words on the screen displaying a countdown timer with written numbers, instead have the baby make certain noises. Grunts when recently satisfied, barks when content, stomach growling when care time is near, and when the beast demands care, it starts dancing around. Instead of English words on the screen saying "your baby wants dino x kibble," an icon appears over its head that the baby is "hungry" or "restless" (wants a walk) or "sad" (wants a cuddle). Then you have to simply offer various foods until the baby accepts one.
Well that's true enough but they do suggest it all the same.
