The Diplodocus
I love this dinosaur, the design, the colors, everything. It suits the map and the center so much, it looks like it came from the king kong movie (2005). However, one reason is keeping me from using it, its attack. Why does it have attacking animations but it can't use them? it does no damage, i can see the 10 player saddle being a reason it does no damage, but thats still no excuse. It should at least be able to do some damage, and if not then why does it have attacking animations in the dev kit? it has a tail swipe and a stomp. I hope they make it do damage, it needs to.

Indeed, the Diplodocus is the first creature that is completely useless in a singleplayer setting.

not really, its pretty fast and has some good weight, but i would choose a paracer instead, since they can have a platform saddle and can attack

Well, it can gather thatch and berries pretty easily. Female megaloceros is completely useless imo. But I agree, the diplo is useless everywhere. Except for RP purposes

I won´t tame one untill they give it the ability to defend itself.

Well, the 11 person saddle is the only thing that the Diplodocus has going for it, since it can't do any damage, which offers virtually no benefit in a singleplayer setting, so I would consider that pointless at least.

I agree. I love the design and everything about it but it's pointless until it can do damage. Also it needs a one person saddle.

Dossier claims it has a three seater saddle. I would have preferred the three seater if it meant the Dino could defend itself.

Why do they have MULTIPLE attacking animations for it in the dev kit if they are not gonna use them?

The female Megaloceros is at least a fast transport and is necessary for breeding them, while the Diplodocus doesn't really do anything basically any other herbivore can do in a singleplayer setting.

It does lay eggs though so you will need it for the kibble!

its more useful then a bronto/paracer, i mean hell if your gonna use platform saddle and/or attacking as an excuse its rather poor, first off this things faster then bronto/paracer so it can easily outrun most threats[i'm asumming alpha's are another story.], also they make metal runs hell of a lot easier//faster. yea you have to take the metal back to base for smelting but imo its worth it then having a slow moving dino like the bronto/paracer

the problem is it can't outrun because it can get stuck on some parasaur that decided to run into you and some dilos came out of nowhere and spit on you, so you can't run

The diplodicus needs a tail attack, that's why the tail evolved the way it has. Even if it did low dps, any dps is better than none.

Exactly

I'm sorry but I think all dinos should be able to defend itself. Like the frog can't defend itself in the water. That's stupid. A creature is going to defend itself to liveif it's backed against a wall. If the rider has full control of it, they are going to have the thing defend itself not sit there and allow it to become meat.

Example: My husband had his frog in the swamp to get dragonflys on The Center. He had to cross the swamp water and this was before he knew the entire place and there was over spawning. Anyways, a BUNCH of pirahnas pinned him against a rock and it was still considered water where he was so he couldn't defend himself with the frog. Luckily he got out by nudging on the rock with jump till he was able to get released but it so stupid how he couldn't attack AT ALL. If it's for balance, just reduce the frog's attack underwater. Atleast then he could still attack and have a CHANCE of defense. But nope. Let's remove attack all together.
