Diplodocus Passive Taming Tips
Diplodocus needs either mejo berries or Lystra kibble to passive tame. Lystra kibble uses:
Lystra egg
Cooked Prime
Fibre
TINTOBERRIES
and of course water

It's been said that the kibble is supposed to be made with mejoberries instead of tintoberries, but currently it's tintoberries and may change with upcoming patches.

Edit: As stated below knocking it out and taming it with kibble is FAR easier than passive taming. But if you really want to passive tame then read on.

To passive tame, you need to get close, but not get its attention. If it sees you and you get too close it won't hurt you but it will get agitated and try to headbutt you away. The combat music will also play. So best bet is to passive tame it wearing a ghillie suit and crouching or lying down.

The problem is, that naturally the Diplodocus loves to walk around grazing and moves fairly fast for its size, faster than you can crawl at average speeds. So unless you want to chase it around for an extended period whilst trying to maintain stealth, especially for higher level ones, you can box it into an enclosure.

Boxing it into an enclosure where it's movement is restricted can cause it to become agitated and try to attack the walls for a short time, but if you keep your distance it will lose its aggro in about 5-10 minutes. Then you can crawl in with your ghillie suit and start passive taming it. If you touch it crawling in ghillie it will not aggro.

Also, if you somehow aggro it whilst passive taming it, once it loses aggro it seems to keep its tame progress and will have been losing food for that period so will eat the first few kibble a bit quicker. Some more experimentation might be needed to determine if you can starve it during a passive tame without negative consequences.

Passive taming is quite easy if you utilise the sweet spot under it's stomach. You can basically press E whenever the prompt comes up and never move at all.
