Custom save path/directory?
Is there any .ini setting to set a specific save path or directory? i have scoured the internet for days and cant find any solutions, i even searched every single game file.

For example, currently i have my laptop and desktop setup with similar batch files that can launch the server using different forwarded ports but the same save data after i copy the save files from one to the other manually (without SteamCMD) and if possible im trying to set the save/load path for my server to my google drive so that i can run the server from either my desktop or laptop without having to migrate files from one to the other...

I do not want to use any third party tools or SteamCMD to accomplish this, i would like to set it up through the actual server's .ini files stored on my desktop then once i have that set up i would do the same to the laptop so they both share the same data.

In the end it would also prevent my saves from having to be backed up before each server update as well since they will no longer be stored in the game directory either, while still allowing me to host my server on either system i choose to.

no ini options for that.

You can set a Custom Launch Parameters setting in the startup prompt of the server, but no .INI setting exists AFAIK.

?AltSaveDirectoryName=NAMEOFDIRECTORY

This setting must be after the Multihome, Port and QueryPort settings to function properly. It will be located in the "YOURSERVER/shootergame/saved/NAMEOFDIRECTORY" folder of your FTP/server once a name is entered.

So i gave that a try and it just creates a new folder but wont point to the googledrive folder i put inside the ark directory because google drive is not "FileFolder" type, im working on a few other things to try, if i get it solved i will post back with what i did.

Yeah, Id be interested if you can suss this out. Ive installed the whole game to a dropbox folder before and that works, but its a cludge to be sure.

I am almost positive that any launch parameters that you put inside the question marks on the command line do get written to one of the INI files, not sure which ini though. Because I have changed the passwords and server names in the launch string and seen the change written to one of the INI files and was surprised to see it there.

passwort is saved in an ini but not the launch parameters.
