How to go about reducing jerky time for single player?
Lately I've been working on crafting kibble in my single player game and I've come to a major stumbling block... the jerky. Even with my accelerated taming settings (10x), I'll still need at least 10 kibble for top level dinos in my game (using difficulty 8 mod so 240 is top level). That doesn't sound like much, but I've had jerky prepping for the last 3 hours and I've only gotten 6, which means I'm looking at another two hours minimum to wait for my next tame. I understand its balanced for an always on server, but since thats not the case with my game, I'm looking for a way to adjust the craft time on the jerky down at least 50% so it will still take time, but not an obscene amount. I've seen that there are a couple of pve balance mods which have adjusted this, but they don't look like they will play well with my difficulty mod, so I'm really just wanting to know how to make this one adjustment without all the extra changes.

Thanks

There's a fantastic mod in the workshop you could check out called "Meat Dehydrator". That's the only thing I can think of that will help you solve the problem without messing around with the ini files.

The issue with that mod is that it makes everything prime jerky and many kibble recipes call for regular jerky, so it would only help for prime jerky recipes. I actually wouldn't mind messing around with the ini files, but there isn't much information that I've been able to find on how to make this specific change.

ARK advance mod has some good items in it including a kibble maker

Looks like an interesting mod, but I'm not really looking for all of those additions, just a way to tweak jerky to cook faster.

Phoenix mod has a cooker that makes jerky faster but again there are other items in the mod

Not sure if there's an actual mod solely for this reason, but set up more than 1 preserving bin. I always make at least 10

It makes both, and actually does them at the same time. In 10 minutes you could have a full stack of cooked meat jerky and a full stack of prime meat jerky. I would know because I currently use this mod on my server.

Not sure I'd want to add drug use into my game...

That thought had occurred to me, but I wanted to try and avoid having to run 5+ preserving bins just to keep a decent rate of production up.

Which mod are you looking at? The ones that I found say they are currently broken and only output prime jerky no matter what you put in.

I use this one:

I passed over that one because I'm not ready to start working on electrical power yet, so something that runs on it won't do me any good.

Build 2 preserving bins. Just a thought.
