If you do that, the server will run but be LAN only (as the ports are not available outside the router cause there are two servers using the same ports.)
If you can see the server, normally that means the Query port is fine so maybe something else is using the game client port?
But the error Snapshot_15 normally is nothing to do with ports but temp files that are corrupted (Delete all snapshot_15.uasset files and do a steam verify after normally fixes this) or a mod that does not play well with the current build. (delete the mod directory and let it download them again)
Thx for the reply, i spent the last days trying to find heads and tail on this.
I'm also playing LAN only mode, but that's a software setting. I'm using ASM, but in the IP field, I used the public IP, which my ISP assigned to me and rarely changes, but I haven't paid them the extra fee for a guarantee that it would never change.
So that's the first thing I would check. Just type in "what's my IP?" in your search engine and make sure it still matches.
If that fails, it's time to contact your ISP to see if there were changes overall. Or you can save yourself some time by checking to see if they already had advised you by e-mail or on their website or something.
Edited Note: I'm assuming that all your other devices using your router, but have not had your ISP provided IP used specifically, are working fine. I've also been able to use my internal IP for the ASM field "My Public IP" and that worked, but that was years ago, so I don't know if it still does. And I've also had my internal IP changed by my router if a a new device was added to the router network, but that usually only happens if my device is not even turned on.
How do you play LAN? Both of us are at the same network, so it would be fine just to play on LAN. But how to do that?
Heh, I edited my post to explain that, but as I said in the edit, I don't know if it still works. Just put your LAN IP in the "My Public IP" field.
However, the IP is unlikely to be the cause if your public IP has not changed.
BTW, I've been playing Ark since 2017, and I'm just now playing Lost Island. I never play a new DLC made by modders after adoption by the Ark devs. While the original map by the modders might have been fine before adoption by the Ark devs, the latter make changes, usually to remove content that may have trod on previously adopted maps, paid or free (like griffins were removed from Valguero, although they were first introduced on Ragnarok, a free map.
So I let other people beta test new maps adopted by the Ark devs first. I will buy new maps made by the Ark devs from scratch, but knowing their propensity to change the code of maps made by modders and botching it...
Edited note: So I started a new game with Fjordur... I did try but it wont even instal the map. I think you are right. I just need to abandon fjordur for now.
Edited note 2: So I wanted to start a new server with Crystal Isle. But then this happens, (the same if I wanne start a new Fjordur server.
