Help with Bola

i've officially gone through 40 bolas and i feel that i'm either doing something wrong OR they dont work like they used to.

i'm on extinction, i walk up to a Pteranodon and throw, it looks like i hit it. but nothing happens. i've tried in first person, third person. aiming at the feet, aiming at the head, aiming at the wings. do i need to be further away? do i need to let it twirl it longer? do i need to be closer? please help, i have no idea why i'm not landing these bolas

Have you tried on any other map? I haven't played Extinction, but i think i remember something about bolas don't work.

yeah bolas are not functinnal in many part of extinction, mostly inside the city and in the under forest area.

i don't know if it's intentionnal or bugged but it has been like that since the extension came out.

still you should find some spots where they can be used, i noticed mostly near the south border of the city, like in some spots in the pit between the city and the wild.
