Hand-feeding baby not working...?

When the baby dino wants to be "hand-fed" a certain item, I have tried everything I can think of and it's not counting. I have put it in slot 0, but there's not option to feed. I put it in their inventory and force-feed. Nothing. force-feed a dozen of them. nothing. What is the trick??

I'm pretty sure you put it in the last slot and it should give you the option to feed it. You might have to move around a bit for it to pop up though.

Did you put the correct item in slot 0 and then walk up to the baby and press E?

I used the correct items. I could not get the "E" to feed it.. Is that what is supposed to happen?

Yes, it's been a while since I was breeding. But if I recall correctly that is all there was to it. Put it in the last slot and then press E. Is E still use for you? It's the "use" key you need. If you remapped it that would make a difference.

Ok, thanks. Perhaps I couldn't find the sweet spot to get Press E to feed to come up. I've tamed passives before so I know how it works, It just hasn't worked for me since the Homestead update, so I was wondering if it changed, since they introduced these new imprinting tasks and changed some things.

Nothing pops up that I recall when imprinting, not like passive taming where it tells you to press to feed. I could be remembering incorrectly, but I don't remember seeing anything pop on imprinting. You just did it.

old one but it does give you the "click E to feed whatever food it asks for" just put it in slot 0 like with passive tames
