The deal with Archaeopteryx?
Will the Devs change the fact that you cant use any tools/weapons when usng the Archaeopteryx? I mean It's a seriously useless dino if not. I didn't realise it would be constantly held above your head, I thought that it would've held onto your back with it's talons and resemble a kind of Backpack/Jetpack kind of thing and if you jumping off of a cliff etc you could grab it and glide. Seems a bit of a buzzkill if you ask me. What do you guys think?

Well they did advertise it as a handglider type dino. So in that comparison it is expected that your hands would be found holding on. Handglider needs your hands to guide it right? Then there is the PVP aspect of what you seek. This dino would be used and abused so badly. I dont care what they do as on my server there is no griefing but........

Shoot a grappling hook at him, you will drag it everywhere and just use it when needed before dropping it when glidding is done.

Not in that sense, I should've explained myself a bit more. Of course your hands are full when gliding but I was told that you couldnt use anything if you had the dino with you, is this true? Not only that but the fact it runs along side you rather than sits on your shoulder etc. I thought just as a change it would be nice to see a different animation like I said have it clinging to your back until you use said dino. Not only that if you had it running alongside you on the ground following, say there was a threat and you had to get out of there asap off a cliff, but the bird is stuck somewhere and you become dinner, it would be better to just have it on your back and you are gone off the cliff without fuss :/ I don't know it was just a thought really.

Yes it does, also works for dragging wild dung beetle out of the cave. Will break if the dung beetle is too far from the cave, but tamed one latch on you just fine.

That's some cool advice, thanks! I'll have to give it a go.

Unfortunately, that is exactly how it works from what I have seen Vocal_Hero. The Archaeopetryx can't be picked up if you are carrying another creature, but doesn't really let you do much of anything, other than glide around if you get some air. Yet another creature that isn't set up in as nearly as useful of a manner as one would like it to. It needs to at the very least sit on your shoulder and be activated at will, otherwise it is a novelty at this point.
