Yeah I thought long about this and understand why they did it so people couldn't just leave with all the Dino's and bases and the other tribe members be screwed but yeah if you are the only member it should default to that person..
And I hate when mod or devs say oh you did this wrong as there is absolutely no tutorials explaining anything. With almost 1,000 hours in everything I've learned is from trial and error ...just wish the errors weren't so costly.
Like when returning from scorched earth if your uploaded character cannot be found .. Do not make a new one !! You don't know how many people I know lost level 90 characters due to this.
They really should have had a transfer tutorial or walk through
Hold it. What are you griping for? This is your fault. You did something dumb and now you are blaming the game?!? If you aren't going to pay attention to the mechanics of the game and then have a bad attitude about it....then you got what you deserved.
If you are locked out because of admin settings in your new tribe then the leader has to change your rank.
If you are locked out because you left your tribe rather than merging, you have to either contact admin or what until their timer runs out, usually about 7 days. You won't be able to get your structure back either way but you can reclaim your Dino's. Just make sure you're on so that they don't get stolen.
When you switch tribes you are either supposed to merge, or your have to unclaim all your Dino's so that the new tribe can claim them, otherwise they stayed claimed by your previous tribe and so locking you out.
The 30 hours will technically not be wasted, just gotta wait for the timer on them to run out.
Your building time will be unfortunately since you didn't merge.
This was exactly my thinking but how i see, i was wrong.
In my opinion, its still a bug because its pretty stupid. Now there is a raft, a building with animals in a Tribe but this Tribe has no member. plz... this is crap coding
Lol I hate these replies ... How did he know he did something dumb, is there a tribe transfer tutorial somewhere that no ones aware of? A step by step guide maybe? A dos and don'ts of tribe disbanding ?

First he did something dumb by not find out how to join another tribe before trying it. And yes there are multiple tribe transfer tutorials. There are so many ways to search how to transfer tribes I'm not even going to list them all. Google it and you will not only bring up the wiki sites but every other forum including this one which is usually in my book one of the best ways to learn how to do things. Not to mention actually seeing how on YouTube. Hell even calling Ms Cleo would have been better than just trying something stupid and then crying about it after you realize you did the wrong thing.
Sadly the name of the game is Being Screwed Royally:Evolved. I think I have to quit playing, I like a lot about the game but the potential extreme loss like this is just too stressful to deal with. Need an ARK-lite mode for us folks who find the survival part just a little too difficult. :P I really like the building mechanics and can't find anything else like it. T_T
Anyway you can rest a bit easier knowing this has happened to a LOT of people.
You can not this is the game mechanics. If you would read before doing things and learn something then you would know. So suck it up and start over those are the breaks.
Let me get this right...
So he should go out of the game to a third party site to find out how to do something in game ..and because wiki is sooo reliable !( last time we referenced wiki for server transfer procedures 1000s of us lost characters)
Now don't get me wrong I prob would have researched it ..
But should u have to go that out of your way to do something that they should have an in game guide for ?

YES! Yes obviously, that's what everyone else with half a brain does. Don't use the server transfer glitch as an example because you know that was a glitch, this was players not learning what to do. People that say "I didn't know about the tribe manager settings", well that's kind of dumb because when you go into you inventory you can see it, and if you set up a tribe you went into it. And going into the menu that's obviously there for a reason isn't "Going out of your way." And that really should have been all you had to do to see how those setting would effect you. Of course, "ALT" + "Tab" and Googling "Ark tribe transfer".......oh yeah, I could see how that would take the strength right out of you for the rest of the day.......SO HARD!!!
