What lvl Wyvern baby can survive starvation?
Topic. I have heard a bunch that "high lvl eggs" can survive infancy with no milk. But nobody ever says what lvl is high enough to survive it.

Grabbed my first ever egg. Poison lvl 78. I don't care about imprinting since he is only 78 but ... Would he survive?

My server has adjusted maturation too which I assume affects it.

I hatched wyvern egg this weekend (official server)

So, it was Lightning Wyvern, Lvl 152.
It had 1600 food once it hatched.
This food was enough to last for 4+ hours (did not try to drain it completely as I was doing inprinting)

Not sure if you can actually get one that lasts all baby stage (on official), but on adjusted rates it looks highly possible!

Wyvern hatching is too easy even on official server! The preparation takes longer than getting it fully grown.

Also, once you get past first 24 hours, you need to invest about 30 min/day on baby, which maked wyverns the easiest high end dino to hatch!

Good luck!

Congrats on that excellent official Wyvern!

Yes I agree, anything 100 or over I would absolutely want to imprint. I was just scouting the Wyvern area for the first time ever and saw an egg. Lost my argy but figured, if I could raise this with no milk, maybe I can use it to help me when I actually can find and imprint a good fire/lightening egg.

Thanks!
Wyverns need milk all the way untill they are adults, so, unless you are on /insert very high maturation multiplier number as I have no clue about maturation multipliers/ server where wyvern is fully grown in under 4 hours (probably at least x25 or even x50), you will fail...

all phases need milk, baby juvi and adolescent.

Yea I realize they need milk till adulthood. Point stands, I've read many posts claiming they can survive to adulthood with no food at all if their stats are high enough (food and health are said to increase fast enough so that they never actually die when starved).

That's a good point Smirnoff. My growth rate is 10x. If it took 24 hours to leave baby stage, that's 2.4 hours for me. So juvenile and adolescent may be another 2 hours each. That's 6+ hours with no food ... So depends on how high his health is. 4 hours with no food he is fine, then he starts eating into his health. Wonder if his HP could last the extra 2 hours ...

Heck it's a poison egg anyway. Maybe I'll test it and see. If he dies, so be it. I just hate to lose my first dragon egg. Such an epic way to raise a pet that you are attached to!

Now, since I know your rates, I think I can save you dissappointment...

Wyvern takes 100 hours after hatching to raise to adult.
If you are on x10 server (and I assume that means 10x faster) it will take you 10 hours... so if my estimate (and remember, I never tested it as I was doing inprinting) is correct, you will run out of food in 4 hours. So that leaves you 6 more hours to survive on hp only... my money is on its' death... but hey, it's Ark! So everything is possible! Even flying Morelatops and fish! :D

Ohhhh even better!! Thank you for the clarification. I think I'm with you. That is a lot of starvation ...

So I decided to pull a trick I read about where you
Use stasis to your advantage. Hatch the Wyvern on a distant corner of the map where you never go. They stay in stasis and don't use food/take damage but the growth timer still applies. Come back 10 hours later and you have a fully grown, very hungry, no imprint Wyvern!

Then I realized ... 10 hours on SP is a very long time. I should really reconsider my growth rate lol. Even at 10x that is a lot of in game time when a server stops every time you log off. I don't want it super easy but my goodness. In 10 hours I'll have way better eggs and milk. And in another 10 I could have even better stuff ... making my eggs obsolete as I get them, unless I find a perfect egg.

But... For Science!

True story bro. For science.

Although the experiment is already done. I know it works 😄

Or at least that's what I read on the internet. Must be true.

In case anyone is interested, this method did work. I hatched my baby near blue obelisk on a rock to avoid him getting aggro. Left back to my base in the southeast near red obelisk. Let the game run about 9-10 hours. Got on my speed trained tapej and loaded some meat. Went to see my baby dragon ... low, and behold! It had become a very hungry, very bloody adult! Naturally zero imprint but it was a 78 poison so no great loss. He had about 1/4-1/5 health left I would estimate. Took so much meat ... he still isn't at full health lol. I gotta take him for a spin next time I play. Gotta say I fully agree with comments about their handling. They turn about as well as a train.
