best bet to circumvent the generator losing HP is to use a solar power mod id think... or a mod with a whole new generator altogether; which might not be affected as the stock genny.
In GameUserSettings.ini
DisableStructureDecayPvE=true
StructureResistanceMultiplier=.000001
Our gens take no damage on SE. Or at least so little that it would take years to decay or be destroyed.
Huh, I stand semi-corrected.
I still don't think structure decay settings have any effect on Genorators; but very interesting to see that the Resistance multiplier helps them... the DoT they take must be considered an outside/environmental sort of damage; hence why the damage resistance effects it..
but, that setting would also make Thatch pretty much impenetrable 8P that's a balance issue IMO, but a great way to circumvent the genny HP loss for singleplayers etc.
It does prevent all structures from taking damage, and therefore a balance issue for any server open to the public. Ours is private and we're fine with it.
We try to keep it challenging through Dino/resource balance. Structures falling apart every few days is micromanagement we're just not interested in.
as an admin, i understand where you're coming from; but i run a public domain and try to keep things balanced.... 8/
Personally though, i love the generators taking damage in SE; as well as the map in general with the wind/water scarcity making base location hyper-critical when compared to the island//center.
However, i find it a bit ridiculous that the generator set in backup power mode wont turn back OFF when wind power comes back On.... this would at least make some of the 85% zones more appealing to smaller tribes; who don't have someone online to babysit the genny 24/7.
just my 2c. ty for the insight 8)
