Generally how you unlock the saddles show the difficulty of taaming.

Pteranadon is very easy if you have a bola and a slingshot.

none of them are really "hard". its the same thing almost every time. find a cliff, tranq it, when it runs away just wait for it to come back and KO it. The only "hard" tames are passive tames. But including the DLC, the wyvern is the hardest. Either kill an alpha wyvern, or KO a wyvern female. Not an easy task

Each dino is already somewhat unique, or atleast alot of them are, some dinos have higher torpor then health so knocking them out might be harder, like the Penguin. Some dinos lose torpor at an annoying quicker then normal rate, starting at Spino, then Galli, the compy and don't even get me STARTED on Dimetrodon. Some are "passive" tames, and passive taming is broken and incredibly irritating to many players but the Lystro, Diplo, and maybe the lil monkey, are the easiest Passive tames, though the key to taming the diplo and monkey is to make sure they aren't aware of your prescense(the lystro doesn't care), Ghillie suit allows you to just about touch them.

What you'll most likely wanna do is go through the Kibble tree, from the bottom to the tippy top.

That said, What you can tame can also vary depending on your biggest flyer. if you have an argent, you can amass an army of wolves, sabers and anything up to a parasaur in size. if you got a quetzal, the worlds your oyster!, Carnos, Gallis, even other Quetzal! the only thing out of reach still is the Allosaur and up, but for the biggest, you can also form stone boxes nearby one you intend to tame, lure them into the pen and close the door, then go out a humansized door and then it's just a matter of pelting it with arrows/darts...

The Direwolf and the Saber are somewhat interchangeable difficulty wise, Wolves do more damage but no armor, while sabers do less, but can have saddles.

The Easiest dino hands down I would have to say to tame is the Lystro, if you can get ahold of rare flowers, it tames in barely a few bites, if not, thats fine, it's harmless. Once you got it, you'll be able to lvl quicker and get better equipment to take on bigger things.

I know what you are trying to say but to me bronto is harder to tame then stego and that is harder to tame then trike and that is harder to tame than the dodo thats what I meant

Some creatures don't poop eggs, they are mammals. So they have no kibble (paracer, gigantopithecus....) or they are just unbreedable. I'd say the troodon is one of the hardest creatures.

Troodon is certainly the hardest thing to tame.

As an aside to whomever said Wyverns are difficult. Wyverns are a joke to raise. Getting the egg his as simple as flying in and grabbing it then running. Sure you have to know how to lose aggro, but a high Stam pteranodon spamming barrel roll doesn't have too much issue and a Griffin can easily tank a few hits (not sure how many since the nerf as I'm on Aberration now) in order to get high enough to use the dive to outrun then. Not to mention that you can easily use a sacrificial tame to distract them. Milking a female is as simple as building a trap. A Wyvern trap isn't difficult to build or use. Especially with Griffin's as mentioned earlier.

Edit: yeah.... Didn't even realize this was a necro lol
What I said is still true not though haha

For base ARK, its the Giga. Hard to lure into trap, harder to enclose trap.
For SE, its the Rock Golem, as they hit hard and unlike Wyverns which can be killed easily with 4-8 turrets, Golems only take damage from explosives or cannon balls.
For Abberation, It's the Rock Drakes. Even with one of your own, you will probably get a low leveled one at first, and then have to hunt down a high level one without pissing off the million rock drakes that live in the nest. Plus the entire place is radiated so your first time will have your pet drained of health by the radiation, plus the run back while trying to escape the Rock Drakes. . . its hell.

What about the basilisk?
Chon'ko Jan 30, 2018 @ 6:29am
Basilisks tame the same way titanboa do you have to give them fertilized eggs so they're not to hard to tame
crimsondrac Jan 30, 2018 @ 6:46am
Just go by size. Generally the smaller it is, the easier it is to tame. Obviously this is not true on some of the animals that have alternate taming methods. But trying to create an easy to hard list is absurd as the list would be heavily opinionated and aside from a few commonaly agreed upon creatures, like most will agree dodo is the easiest, there will be much debate over larger dinos and alternate taming methods. In fact, the Wyverns are likely the easiest. All you have to do is get away with an egg. No real taming involved. Just raising a baby wyvern.
