I know taming food but what does it eat after being tamed? Meat or do I have to feed it chitin?

I threw berries in the inventory. I'm not exactly sure if they are eating them, but food hasn't lowered that much.

I haven't tamed one yet, but since the Pelagornis doesn't change its food preferences after being tamed (refuses to eat meat), I assume the Archaeopteryx only eats chitin. You can test it though, just feed it a couple stimberries to make it hungry (-80 food should be enough for every type of food) and then put whatever food in its inventory to see if it eats.

Yeah I'm currently raising a few babies of both meat and berries off the trough and didn't want to mess with it. Last time I did that had 1 die lol. That's why I was asking. Got 3 troughs going filled with everything that's why it's hard to figure out. Plus I don't want to take it out of range just yet because my base is surrounded by wild agies waiting for fresh baby meat.

In hindsight it was a horrible time to tame 1 but opportunity struck.

from what i've seen so far, they only eat chitin, as do their babies.

the babies can eat chitin or pelagornis kibble .i was testing it earlier it wont eat meat or berries
