Do oil veins run dry?
Been several days in-game since I've been back to this one pump and it hasn't pulled any new oil since then.

I think they come back if you wait long enough.

No but the area needs to be active for it to keep pumping. If no one ever goes to the area then it goes idle.

that's probably it then, it's not far from my house but may be just far enough to not be in render distance. It's supposed to take 1 oil every 20 seconds as I understand from the wiki, so "long time" shouldn't come into the equation at all, it would just mean minimal oil if I came back fast. I'll try hunting int he area and see what happens

No results so far. Hunted everything around the pump and just idled for about 15 minutes doing some dishes, but nothing coming from the oil pump. I can't even access an inventory, it just has the option to destroy it.

have placed 4 down and all were full when checked the next day. we are not based nearby so no passing traffic at all.

That seems to be the ticket. I left to do other things, then at one point realized my Jerboa was missing and started backtracking to find her, and eventually located her right back at the oil pump. Don't know how she got dropped, but checked the pump after all that and there was oil again. Seems you have to stay away from it for it to gather

we are having an issue on our server. the oil veins all disappeared. we are a new server and only one tribe had on pump. they all disappeared at the same time. we have submitted a bug report with survivetheark, and started thread her in steam. however we have only been met with others saying they are having the same issue. please let us know if you have any ideas why this is happening and or ways to fix it. we have already re verified our server files, that didn't solve it.

Did you test both SP and server?

yes when i restored the ark files from the server locally i was able to find the veins.
