Why do you want to just leave it in the trap?
The effect is instant, I've done it plenty of times. If you go out of render range of the structure then it becomes invisible and the wyvern flies free.

What do you mean? Can you get milk from knocking down own Dino?
Tamed female Wyverns will occasionally have milk in their inventory.
Can not be stored in a Refrigerator (since 246.3).
(The notes from the wiki) - Tamed wyverns will occasionally have milk in their inventory. That's the only "farm" I guess. You obviously won't need ot knock out your own wyvern to get it :)
