How to feed baby wyvern milk
Hi,

I just hatched a wyvern egg and started the process of raising the baby wyvern. Its food was fairly low from the get go, and when placing milk in it's inventory, it won't consume it.

I know the milk is used for imprinting, but do I force feed the milk to the baby or do I wait for the food to drop low enough and it will drink the milk on it's own (provided it's in its inventory)? Also, will it give me any type of signal that it needs milk (for hunger reasons, not imprinting) if there is no milk in its inventory?

I'm playing solo on official server, and therefore primarly looking for advice from other people who have experience raising wyverns on official servers (as unofficials can be vastly different).

Alright. For the record, the milk in its inventory was about to spoil so i just remote used it and it caused its food to jump by a lot. The first milk I force fed didn't seem to do anything tho.

Nevermind, it dropped back down to around the initial level again..

Wyvern Milk gives the baby 1200 food, so it won't eat it by itself until it has lost 1200 food - just like any other creature won't eat any food unless it has lost the amount of food that would be given from whatever it is eating.

With babies, this can be a littl confusing though, as when you look at their stats they have a much higher maximum food than what they can actually have, as they only have a portion of their maximum food (which increases slowly over time as they grow) - if you go over their allocated food, it will drop instantly to their temporary maximum. This makes it diffcitul for Wyverns to feed (especially low level ones) becuase if you hatch a baby and it only has a possible food of say... 1100, then it will never eat on its own. It will only eat when you force feed it or imprint it with wyvern milk.

This makes sense! The food increased dramatically and dropped down to around 1200+ when I force fed it, so I guess it eats on its own right before the food meter expires (at least in baby stage). Thank you so much!

Btw it's a lvl 116 lightning with a max food of 5000

Why? Did I miss something in future patch notes?

you can make your milk last longer by including some "preserving salt" in with it. I think it doubles the "holding" time. Just put it in the baby or whatever dino you have holding the milk. I used an Argent to hold the milk we got from an Alpha and it worked well. Though we had to go out and get a whole lot more because our egg had triplets in it!
