Obelisk Terminal Timer?
We had quiet a few dinos uploaded from the Center just for storage. Today I opened the Terminal and nothing. When I place an object in the terminal now I get a 24hr timer. Maybe I missed it in the patch notes, but that would've been good information to know beforehand.

Anyone else haveing this issue? I didn't see anything on a forum search about it.

24 hour timer on items and dinos has been there since the transfer release, is intended so its not used as storage, just transfer.

thats BS. I had a bunch of dinos stored there. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Did we get a warning or anything and I missed it?

You're full of crap.

It has NOT been in there since release. We had dinos stored in there for some time. A notice would have been nice since we lost a lot of dinos. The timer just recently started showing.

Maybe you guys claiming to have stored things for longer got lucky or something wasn't working as intended, but the 24 hour timer has been around for a long time, put in place since uploads/downloads became a thing to prevent abuse.

Even if this wasn't the way, or is intented. I am glad something like this is in place so people can't abuse it.

The obelisk is mainly used so that people can transfer things over to the different arks, not used so you can have things stored for say a rainy day.

Pretty sure he is talking about the transfer to Scorched Earth and back, not the original upload and download.

Tribute transfer should still be safe

How is that possible? A few weeks after SE came out, we pulled our dinos down from the center. There was no timer, Period.
They stayed in there for about a week just fine. We saw them. Another tribe member pulled hers over. A few days later, all of our dinos were gone.
So to recap:

1. There was no timer put in until very recently.
2. How damn hard would it have been for WC to announce there would be a timer that would nuke your stuff after a day? It's not like we checked every darn day to see if they were still there. Especially since they had been fine for a week or more already. I'm not saying it was the intended behavior, but seriously? Not lettting people know it was going to change?

I can understand it on official, but they should have given warning in patch notes. It definitely hasn't been like that for very long. On unofficial it sould be a server option unless it interfers with the transfer process somehow.

My two cents, I saw the timer on my unofficial server shortly after SE released, when testing my cluster.
The fact that there can be any confusion at all over this is a problem in and of itself though.

If you run your own here is 1 year Terminal Decay!

TributeItemExpirationSeconds=31536000
TributeDinoExpirationSeconds=31536000
TributeCharacterExpirationSeconds=31536000

Setting 0 or -0 does not disable it. So looks like for now all we can do is extend it!

I extended mine and they said they had 160 hours left then poof they were gone

If it because of storage issues, adding a timer wont help anything firstly, transfering anything takes 40 minutes... secondly instead of adding timers they could have lowered the 24 hour limit to 2 hours or something.
