SE optimal skill point distribution
Hi,

i am thinking about transferring my lvl97 char to SE and my low level SE char no vanilla to level it quicker.
If i transfer the lvl 97 i want to mindwipe it before, so the question is what is the optimal skill distribution?

Does it make sense to pump up fortitude to counter the elements?

Yes you will need to pump up fortitude or you will just die alot.

fortitude at least 15-20, first priority get to the water and build near a water spot.

SE demands players change the way they play. No longer can you just pump health and melee. You are going to want to pump fortitude then water followed by food. Also you need to be prepared when you play for storms and their effects. Sorry I almost spoiled it for you by mistake. Elements can be sometimes more dangerous then a pack of wolves in SE. That is what I like the most about it.

I had a level 73 that I transferred over to an SE server and the spread that I did worked well for me:

200 health
200 stam
150 food
200 water
200 weight
14 fort
140% move speed

Everything else I left at base value (unless I'm forgetting something). The move speed is essential to be able to outrun all the hostile creatures on SE, especially when you're starting out and have nothing to ride around on. The increased food and water were super useful since water sources are few and far between and berries only give you food (not water) on this map. Also, 14 fortitude I believe is the point where it actually starts to have an impact on weather conditions, so I left mine at that.

Obviously you'll be able to play around with your spread more since you're a higher level, but I hope this helps with your decision making. Cheers. =)

I dont know if you realize this guy with no name. LOL. There are more water sources on the SE map than meets the eye. However maybe not everyone knows cactus are a great source for water when in the desert. In SE the sap from these plants give you hydration and food. Also watch the ground for patches of beginner cactus. Just look around your envirorment and think outside the box as you know it.

Ty for your answere

My tribe already has a small house setup and some basic dinos.
I started a new char there but it is only lvl 1x by now.

So i wanted to switch places with my high level The Island char and level my new char on the Island, its so much faster there ...

I need to mindwipe for the new engrams so i figured i will change my stat points also, currently i run 40 fortitude, 130 movement speed, 250 hp, 150 stam and a lot of weight. But maybe thats not so good for the DLC ...

my stats are simple
lvl 91 char
450 hp (enough to survive a fall from any height)
400 Weight
50 Fortitude

no points anywhere else

With this setup, you have the best chance of survival, the only place on SE I've encountered an issue with weather, food or water is in the outer desert during a sandstorm whilst on a flying mount..

If you're out there in a sandstorm, seriously, just forget about flying anywhere, find a safe spot and wait it out
