Which map do you like best and what kind of rates?

I am looking to start another server and am curious to hear opinions on which map people think is best. Also curious as to what rates different people prefer in their unofficial servers. Thanks in advance!

my personal view is i like the Island the best out of all the maps.
But it lacks living space and flat ground.
Next one would be shingo Islands.
The center is a good map but buggy - but there is an update to fix that coming soon hopefully.
Everyone likes different maps for different reasons.
Scorched Earth is another map which is really good because it incorporates a weather system that is not in Normal Ark.

Rates are down to the admin of the server.
To high and people will play for testing stuff then leave.
TO low and they may as well be on official server grinding away.
5 - 10X is always a good start for rates.

I really like what they are doing on the theoldestworld map.. It’s still early development though but it’s nice to have an alternate map that nails it. Is between the center and the island maps in terms of features.. Works well with Annunki as well.

As far as rates go 20 to 25X. I get bored with anything under 20x. In my mind a modded server should be a joy to play and flow naturally from gathering to building.

Holy hell 20x?!?! How is that natural. You will build everything in the game in an hour or so. Once you build everything just tame 800 gigas and stop playing because there is nothing left to do.

Definitely the Center Map. So much space and infinite amazing places for base building. So beautiful. I want to live there for real. I don't experience it being buggy at all myself, but it's my private server so maybe it's different on official. I have experience x 3, taming x 6, resource gathering x 6, flying and building in caves, and disease turned off. A few other minor things but that's the gist of it.

Here is what I have been thinking of launching:

The Center - PVP Server with Offline Raid Protection (60 Min) - 3x Gathering, 3x Taming, 3x Breeding, 3x EXP, Character Tribute Only, Admin Logging, .5 Water / Food Drain, 25% Faster Resource Spawn, x2 Night Speed, and Map Marker.

Any feedback on that?

Ok so I forgot to mention the 6x breeding. The resource spawn isn't a terrible idea, but I doubt you'll need it on the Center map, it's so lush and covered with resources. I did have the nighttime sped up on my old island server but night time is so amazing on the Center map...I wouldn't speed it up. Night is mesmerizing. Have you played on the Center yet?

Ummmmm.....okaaaaayyy.....I'm gonna have to now cuz I'm all curious about what's there.

4X gathering, 5X taming, 4X XP, disease off, and tbh, i like having the dino tame reverting back up to 75 - 100 percent of their original stats or so. I don't play in large tribes or servers so we generally like/need the extra help.

The island, 5x everything. Maybe 10-15x taming/hatching/maturing.
