I have so much bad luck with this game...

I have so much bad luck with this game that I can only laugh, and share the funny...

I have been trying to get into the game for a while now, only to end up rage quiting due to bad luck, like 'oh I need a few pieces of wood, there a forest of wood there, let me get one' ... random Carno#43252 rushes out devours my corpse still holding the single piece of wood I paid for in blood.

... I figured give the DLC a go as it didn't seem quiet so busy, and while hard to survive due to the environment it looked a little easier as long as you used your head, I was sooooo wrong.

I have rage quit several attempts, due to stupid things like harvesting a tree and a raptor comes out of nowhere, in the easy section and eats my face...
... or I go to use my boomerang only to have it break after a few hit...
... or have a fresh spear break on the first hit leaving me looking at a grinning raptor.

The last attempt is the really funny one, I was determined to get places, I watched Sl1p and his wyvern, I wanted one!
I had a decent start, had a house, killed a stuck Para which gave me enough hide for shoes and a sleeping bag, had a slingshot and full set of cloth clothes and 3 spears.
I wanted more hide for the bed and the mortar, so I perched on a tall rock and tossed stones at a nearby Anky, stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing was the highest level critter I seen in that ravine, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up but I had a sleeping bag so I respawned and went back to my body, saw the Anky but no body, it had fallen through the world.
Ah well, back to gathering crap again, after an hour I was back in the same boat but I remember watching Lathrix, and how he walked about scavenging bodies so I figured I would hang around some tough herbivours and see if they killed any preditors, and sure enough after watch a herd of Morello's for 10 min some terror birds attacked the herd and one of the morrellos went down and the terrors got killed.
Lucky! But wait theres a saber in bound, I dashed to chop up the dead morrello...

... a local bloody rock got up and beat the snot out of me, I tried to retrieve my body but that bugger of a golem was guarding it, and by the time I lead the slow thing away it got dark, and while I was looking in the dark, it came back and ... ALT F4.

LOL!! I watched that area for 10 min, looking to see what was there, I didn't even think rock elemental, nowhere near the mountains, and it wasn't particularily rocky... but the worst aspect is how the thing ONLY aggro's on players.
Terror birds and Raptors were ignored, Morrollo's disregarded but the second I went near that corpse, that rock got seriously pissed off.
The ones in Sl1ps vids stick out as they are orange rocks in a black mountain, but orange rocks on a orange pre-deep deep desert... a bit hard to pick 'em out.

I once died to a Rock Elemental, only for it to lay down RIGHT ontop of my corpse... The tribe log was "Misty was killed by Rock Elemental level 68" repeating itself and the occasional Direwolf and Terrorbird killing me, and the ground was littered with corpses of myself. XD

I did EVENTUALLY get my things back though, so there is that.

For smaller threats like raptors and sabres/wolves, invest in bolas. I cannot stress enough how ridiculously freaking useful they are in early game and well into lategame. Any small aggressive creature chasing you can be deadstopped and escaped with a single well-aimed bola.

I level the hell out of my speed and stam the moment I get my fort high enough to withstand the regular valley temperatures. XD Unless I get caught on a rock, or a rock ambushes me, I can outrun pretty much anything... Including my poor friends.
