I stumbled upon a cave while exloring near Whitesky Peak - it's called "The Frozen Maw" and it's full of crystals and seemingly steaming hot water that damages you upon contact. Therein I found two of each Anglers and Penguins which were level 130-140+ (I'm on difficulty 0.2 - this is absurd).... It's 0 Fahrenheit in here and you experience hypothermia with Fur armour on...

my question... why have I found no mention of this? I tried looking up The Frozen Maw through google and through Steam discussions, but I don't get the results. Why is nobody talking about this place? It's so interesting - it's very unique in this game.

I know that, but this is in ARK: Survival Evolved, though.

and the cave is very old news

Someone has just discovered the snow cave for the first time. The snow cave is a late game activity that requires high quality Fur gear and weapons with lots of ammo, not just the standard primitive engrams. There is also the swamp cave on the east side of the clearing with a pond in the redwood biome that requires a combination of high quality Ghillie gear and I think either a SCUBA Tank or a Gas Mask, along with high quality weapons with lots of ammo.

I can understand it being old news, but it's not on a map of caves, not on any discussions, not being picked up on google searches.... that's what confuses me.

Thank you, but I CANNOT believe they would just go ahead and call "The Frozen Maw" simply "Snow Cave" and that "THE FROZEN MAW" is not mentioned literally anywhere on the internet (not GW2)

more of a wiki, made by the players, who when making it probably dont remember the exact name of the cave
litterally the second thing to pop up when i search ark frozen maw on google
there is an area on the map called the maw, which is probably why this is labled snow cave

Apparently no one has noted the in-game name of the snow cave or swamp cave on the official ARK wiki. I work on the Wikia ARK wiki, but without the game things like this slip through the cracks for me.
