How common is KOS in this game?

KOS = Kill on sight

How often does this happen in official servers? (raiding does not count, I mean just seeing someone and killing them for no apparent reason)

Each PVP server is very different. Some are more friendly then others. Some are 'Red is Dead'

One PVP server I started on, had randoms come up and drop gear for me
Another server, I had a L78 run up and kill my L3 ever time I respawned

But in general, offical server, you will more likely get KOS

Very much depends on the server. Official servers I'd say are more often KOS. I've been on a lot of unofficial servers that really don't even feel like they're PVP, but if you go out of your way to screw someone over...

Also some servers will have both types on them, right. People who like to play friendly, people who like to play cruel. It really depends.

It depends on the server, some pvp servers are very hostile others are pretty much pve with occasional pvp if someone deserves it. You have to shop around basically until you find a server that fits your needs.

Official servers = non stop.

I logged into the WildCard DLC SE on the first day and was killed by 2 level-2 hooligans in under 3 mins of spawning.

Some official servers are better than others, but they are hard to find and usually require you get along with the dominant personalities in global chat to some degree.

Look for un-official servers.

a lot of server have few population. the KOS isnt like rust or others game. this is not a FPS.

its a survival game. if you attack people.. you might die.

if you make friends. you might get stronger.

KOS and similar behavior on these multiplayer survival or looting games doesn't interest me, which is why ARK is particularly interesting to me, because it offers singleplayer. This is why I am very critical of the time commitment on the default settings and the decision to not allow the effective stockpiling of such resources as Lesser Antidote, Leech Blood, and now Wyvern Milk in ARK.
