Taming Lystrosaurus Problems
I just got back into ark today and I tried to tame a Lystrosaurus, but it was taking longer than the wiki said it would (over 35 minutes) and after it got 3/4 of the way through the taming meter started to go back down and I couldn't stop it. Does someone know how to stop this?

Thanks

Did it happen with more than one Lystro?

What map were you on and what taming food were you using? i know when gigantopithicus was first introduced it would get a glitch where its hunger wasnt going up when fed and the taming would fail entirely. There is a good chance that with the ammount of new passive tames included with the expansion that something happened to glitch out the passive taming mechanic again. I have experienced this same glitch with spiders and mantas, god forbid it happen with a mantis or people will rage, all those deathworm spikes wasted XD.

I am on a single player game and the same thing is happening with the Mantis. After two feeds, the Mantis stops accepting more food. That is to say, even with the food meter dropping well past were is should need to be, the game still tells you to wait until it is hungry again.

I figured out my problem. This should only occur on single player games and possibly private/custom servers.

Passive taming feeds appear to be based on a set timer, not the creatures actual food levels. For the mantis, the timer is set around 3min. If you have dino food drain set above 1, then you may run into an issue were the food drains too fast causing the tame meter to drain even though you feed the beast each time the game lets you.

However, while researching this, another issue was noticed. Some people are reporting up to level 75 mantis tames with one worm horn. On my game even a level one mantis takes a min of two horns. Not sure what is causing this issue.

Happens to me too, and I am playing on singleplayer.
This tiny little potato needs more food than a Parasaurus. xD 50 berries are even too much for my parasaurus and they will last him forever!
But this thing, it can eat the whole planet's vegetation alone.

Are you on official or private or local? Have any settings to taming or food consumption been changed that might effect it?
