Placing sloped roofs

Im trying to place a sloped roof but it keeps on snapping to the floor, how do i get it to snap to the walls.... or do i need to make the walls out of wood or stronger? currently only have thatch walls

and im getting irritated with getting it orientated right, and no matter what button i press i cant change it

You would need sloped walls, to make sure the sloped roof snaps correctly.

You need two snap points to be able to reliably place a sloped ceiling.
