Most fun I have had in a while - Fjordur

LOL, I have over 3,000 hours between the Xbox and PC. Early game in this game is still hard. Last night on Fjordur, I think in 3 hours I had over 10 deaths. 2 of the "easy" game start locations I died from Carno attack before I even spawned in. Then I found a cool start location with some boxes on the beach, had metal gear in them. I was like cool, great start. 10 min later, still on the beach, died to a dilo. OK, no big deal, been there, done that. Respawn, same area. kill dilos, then in comes a scorpion. Crap crap crap. Die. OK, respawn, then remember one of the crates I destroyed had a crossbow, so I hurry up and make a bunch of stone arrows. Somehow get the scorpion to a spot where I can hit him from above. Kill him. Start building a starter base/bed etc. Alpha raptor appears on screen, at least the red outline, attacking a mammoth. Crap crap crap. Time to run away, abandon the base I built next to the beach.

Get away from that alpha raptor, go through some huge cavern that removed all water from my body due to heat. I think I am safe on the other side. But no water to be had. Oh well, more exploration further ahead. Kill a couple dilos. Then right there in the path is another alpha raptor. But this one sees me. Dead. OK, respawn in that base again. This time, that alpha next to the base is fighting an argy. (An argy on the beach!!!)

But he is distracted. OK, going down didn't work, what about going up? So I start running up the path and within 2 minutes am killed by a sabretooth. OK, give up that base location, lol.

Respawn in another location. It looks fairly safe. Start running around, looking at the dinos in the area. gather mats, etc. A few minutes later, there is ANOTHER alpha raptor. And yep, his target was right on me. He probably saw me before I saw him.

Choose a 4th location. This one, I only saw a few dilos, a trike, and a bunch of turtles. I get up off the beach a little bit, on a hill overlooking the beach, build a wood/thatch hut 3x3. For the first time in forever, I turned off my server last night when I was done streaming because I have never felt so unsafe in this game, lol.

All in all, a great time. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun dying and laughing, running away.
