RIOT SHIELD?!

are there any uses for it? Can you wield a fabricated pistol with it? Is there a polymer tier melee to match it? i just don't get it

The riot shield is good against frontal attacks from players and some dinos.

Its also used when scoping bases, to soak up any turret fire.

Its used more in pvp than pve but is still useful for getting close to a reaper queen for impregnation for example.

With shield: they feed, you take no damage, they feed, you take no damage, tame complete.

I used the shield a lot when doing cave runs without mount, beside that I think it's use is more in pvp.

If you destroy them in an industrial grinder you get metal, crystal, organic polymer and silicia pearls. Very useful when you want to repair ghillie armor :)
