Should riot armors cost get nerfed

since tek armor is coming out riot armor will be fully ignored unless they lower it's price

Its not just the build cost, it's the extremely high maintenance cost. Not sure about the base level gray riot armor, but the more advanced teirs are ridiculous. I spent a week farming to craft 1 ascendant riot chest piece, and got hit 1 time by a wolf which cost me over 100 polymer, etc. and I never wore the blasted thing again because it cost too much to actually use even after crafting it.

I think NO recipie should require more resources than can actually fit in a smithy/fabricator, and the lower tiers should scale down from that.
(And FFS devs, NO that does not mean increase the space in the crafting stations. Your grind is killing official servers)

ya but when tek comes out everyone would skip riot armor becuase it's just not worth it when you could get tek

Unless the Tek armour costs an equally insane amount of materials to craft and repair it...which I have no doubt it will.

It's worth pointing out that on my server the higher ranked tribes pooled blueprint resources to put together flak armor sets for the ice cave/swamp cave, all of the items had the highest possible DURABILITY that we could find, because the durability of all armor is incredibly weak, and armor breaking is very much the weakest part of your protection. Even focusing on durability, we found that you needed at least 2 full sets of gear. Riot at a given durability will break faster than flak with the same durability. And we chose flak because flak gear came out before the not so sane resource scaling on newer gear stuff. Also, higher quality riot gear is too costly to take into a high risk situation. Riot is already an overpriced supercar that you can't drive anywhere for fear of scratching it.

So riot isn't even good right now, without tek teir.

A grossly disproportionate grind does not equal challenging exciting gameplay, or "difficulty" per se.

Some while back they started balancing items to cost MASSIVELY more resources to craft. In the case of items like the industrial forge, industrial cooker, etc. I believe this was intended to make them difficult to acquire without a team effort from a tribe. I'm fine with that. But when they started applying the same resource cost scaling to individual gear items... that is not good game balance. Being in a tribe or not does nothing to diminish individual gear costs, because the more people in a tribe, the more of those items you need.

Na.... I'd rather see them make thing cost less to craft/repair when investing in crafting speed.... give the stat a use...

Its not really that costly. Just spend ten minutes collecting organic poly and send over some pearls from scorched earth and you can make a vault full of riot gear.
